CRISP AND DRY IN SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 15th/ FEBRUARY 2014.

Just a little lie in this morning before the sun coming in through the shutters, after our tea, toast, honey and Banana we sorted ourselves out for the day ahead; the dog came crashing in early as she had escaped and is now playing around my feet as I’ am watching ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ live on the small PC and typing the Blog on the larger PC – as you can see! Down here in the ‘Costa Del Sol’ and all over Spain all the BBC TV and ITV channels have now gone off! My way via an IT contact channel is the best way to still get them on-line at no cost!!

Brenda is pottering about catching up with the washing and ironing and then she is going into the kitchen to get tonight’s supper prepared; finely sliced Green Beans using her special cutter,thank’s to Jane – we will need a new one when you are next here?! – then hand cut ‘Frits’ that I will blanch later – the ‘Diana’ sauce I will make this evening. Day two of the ‘Gourmet Food Festival’is on the way!

A big sports weekend ahead with the great news overnight of Lizzy Arnolds Gold Medal in the ‘Skeleton-Bob’ at the Sochi Winter Olympics; over here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona take on Rayo Vallelcano and tomorrow Real Madrid travel to Getafe; in the UK, weather permitting, in the fifth round of the 'FA Cup' it’s the Match of the Day when Manchester City welcome Chelsea, then tomorrow its Everton v Swansea and another Match of the Day when Liverpool visit Arsenal!

City had an easy win over Chelsea 2-0 - Barcelona won 6-0 and are now top of 'La Liga' on goal difference by 9 goals!

Meanwhile no ‘Six Nations Rugby Union’ this weekend; next weekend Wales take on France and England welcome Ireland (with Sexton playing!)

We have just come off the Skype video this afternoon after speaking to Tim and Thea over in Old Colwyn,North Wales; they fly out to Australia next Tuesday evening via Dubai for their three-week holiday of a lifetime! We wish them " Bon Voyage" - have a 'Helluva' time !! We will be following their adventure on our large Australian wall map in the office.

Last night after our ‘Valentine’s’ supper we watched ‘Independence Day’ from 1996 – the military science fiction disaster movie with great action and starring Jeff Goldblum,Bill Pullman, Will Smith, Robert Loggia, Randy Quaid,Margret Colin and Vivica A Fox.

Thought for the Day; See above.
