MONDAY 14th/
OCTOBER 2013.
This
morning after our tea and toast I went and brought the car up to our small
square so as we could wash it and check the oil, coolant and screen wash; when
I took it back I ended up on the top floor, there are three floors and you can
walk across into the new park from the top one!
The optician has just rung to say that Brenda's new glasses are ready,now that's service! We have just come back from an anti-clockwise walk around the village with the dog,I can't see that the church is going to be open for Xmas!
I have
posted some pictures of the opening festivities above that have just come in,
they were taken by the council photographer, Gary from the’ Resident’ newspaper
it yet to post his! They show some pictures that I couldn’t’ get and then the
dancers and singers from later in the evening! The top two pictures are from the album of Gary's pictures,he is also in one of the pictures below with me!
We are
having an at home day and just pottering about doing nothing – because we can!!
Last night after our roast dinner and Mano and Anna had left we watched the
late film on TVE1 ( No adverts!) –it was a biographical crime drama based on
true characters and events back in the 1970s about the narcotics war in the
USA; called “ American Gangsters” from 2007 and starring in the two main roles
Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe – ones the ‘Baddie’ and ones the ‘Goodie’
but which! Watch it and find out, not to be missed.
Tonight for
our supper I’ am making another classic from the past “ Beef Stroganoff ”using
my recipe/version; strips of seasoned Beef, sliced Mushrooms & Onions,
Tomato puree & a dash of Mustard, Garlic puree, Beef stock, Wine and
Brandy, Smoked hot Paprika and finally soured cream! We are having it with
finely sliced Green Beans and ‘Half and Half – rice and square chips!
