OVERCAST AND CLOUDY IN SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 22nd/ OCTOBER 2013.

After a little lie in this morning we set ourselves up for the day with a nice cup of tea and warm buttered toast! The dog came crashing in as she had escaped out of her house early so she had her breakfast with us; we then shot out for our walk earlier than normal as today it’s overcast and cloudy and threatening to rain! It’s also a little cooler, we can’t complain as its still24/25degs!

The work on the ‘Plaza Pozo Del Rey’ seems to be taking for ever, I asked a boss-man when will it be open and he shrugged his shoulders and said ‘Ask the Council!’ – So I will!! See the pictures above on a cloudy day here in normally sunny Manilva

We are having an at home day doing nothing, Brenda is complaining that she has no jobs to do – well you can’t win them all! Meanwhile I’ am up in the office on the WWW. reading the newspapers, checking the e-mails, reading Facebook,checking the bank statements and typing the Blog,as you can see, she says I’ am playing, I say that I’ am working!

Last nights film that we found was “ Derailed” from 2005 with Clive Owen, Jennifer Aniston, Melissa George and Vincent Cassel as the baddie,based in Chicago it’s a thriller with lots of twists and a surprise ending.

Later on TVE2 I watched a very good documentary made by BBCTV2 called “ The Spice Trail” from 2011 – the presenter is Kate Humble who as usual is very bubbly, excited and efficient as she goes around the world tracing the origins,history,manufacturing etc, of the various spices; last nights episode was on ‘Pepper and Cinnamon’ going first to India and then onto Sir Lanka,the next one is on ‘Nutmeg & Cloves and then ‘Vanilla & Saffron’

Tonight for our supper we are having the Calves Liver sliced thin and dusted with flour and seared ‘Pink’ in foaming Butter, Smoked Bacon and English Pork Sausage, sautéed Mushrooms and Onions and a ‘new’ Potato dish of sliced Potatoes cooked in Virgin Olive Oil then layered with diced Bacon and a little vegetable stock and baked in the oven until crisp! Mouthwatering ! Brenda is getting ready Cabbage with Alselgas and Baby Carrots mixed with Garden Peas;this afternoon Man and Anna called in for a chat so they are joining us later for supper as its Mano's favourite meal,he will then go onto work at 12-00 midnight.They are still without electricity so they are getting rather wound up and 'P----D' off - to say the least!!

It will then be time to watch some live football from the UEFA Champions League.

PS; On the 22nd October 1797,216 year ago the French Balloonist Andre-Jacques Garnerin became the first man to make an Parachute jump!  Now not a lot of people know that !!

Thought for the Day; See above.
