DRY AND STILL WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 23rd/ OTOBER 2013.

Late last evening as Mano and Anna were leaving after supper it was just starting to rain, by midnight it was time to ‘Baton Down the Hatches’ as per normal in Spain when it rains it really Rains! – The first in over nearly 5 months! But the good news at the moment is that it stopped in the middle of the night and it’s not raining this morning – at the moment!!

We had a very nice supper and there were four empty plates, the Liver and all the accompaniments were very tasty and mouthwatering and the hit of the night was the new Potatoes dish that I created! I sliced the Potatoes ¼ inch and then fried them in Virgin Olive Oil till cooked and drained then on kitchen paper, the Bacon snippets are then cooked and they layered in with potatoes, seasoned and a little vegetable stock added, sprinkled with knob’s of Butter before baking the dish quickly in a hot oven! “ Manilva Style ”

We then watched the Inter Milan v Barcelona match 1-1 and later caught up with all the other scores and highlights on TDP from the UEFA Champions League; it was then time for the late film “ The Kingdom” from 2007 – inspired by actual events it shows a FBI team going over to Saudi Arabia to help investigate a major bombing, it then ‘Explodes’ into a very exciting and brutal ending! Starring Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper,Jenifer Garner, Jason Bateman and Ashraf Barhom.

Over on TVE2 I found out what turned out to be a fascinating programme to watch; it was in English and told the story of the American composer and conductor Eric Whitacre who had the idea to create a ‘Virtual Choir’ on ‘YouTube’ It showed how he went about it from the start by getting people to sing parts to his song in online video and classified by soprano, baritone etc.They are just normal people who have never performed and the response was world wide to say the least! To see what I’ am talking about you must go onto Google or YouTube and find out what the results were; the project is under the name “ Ted.Com” and the first video is amazing to watch and listen too but then it gets even better as he has progressed into even larger choirs – 8409 videos with 5905 singers from over 101 countries!! Please watch ASAP !!

This evening for supper we are having ‘Albondigas – Meatballs’ in a rich Tomato and mixed Pepper Salsa with Spaghetti and the left-over vegetables from last night, no potatoes as they were all ate by someone ?!

PS; The 'Tour De France 2014' route has just been announced in Paris,it starts in England with the first stage into Harrogate Mark Cavendish's home town!!

PPS; CSKA Moscow 1 - Manchester City 2.

Thought for the Day; See above.
