THE ' CANADIANS' HIT A VERY HOT & SUNNY RONDA, WITH US, ON TUESDAY !

TUESDAY 1st/ OCTOBER 2019.  “ CANADA WEEK DAY THREE “

After getting ready, Bill picked us from sunny Manilva and we then collected the rest of the ‘ Clan’ from the villa down on Manilva Beach’ –sadly without Nicole and Neil, as she was feeling a lit under the weather – in the two cars we then set off to the San Roque train station, to catch the local 11-40- train, stopping at all the villages ( 6/7)  on the way to Ronda.

We jumped into a taxi outside the station to drop down into the centre of Ronda, after meeting the rest of folks, we headed to the main Plaza and I found a nice table in one of the Bar& Restaurants, which by then were all very busy, see below the newly updated square.

We choose from the excellent value Menu Del Dia ( 15 Euros for 3 Course with a drink!) – a good selection including a local ‘Gazpacho’ Soup, Melon with Ham and the ‘Pork a la Plancha with fresh Frits’

See below.

We then made our separate ways around the town taking in all the main sights on the way, I ended up, at one stage, in the kitchens of the One ‘Mitchelin star* “ Restaurnante Bardal’  talking to the Chef/Proprietor, Benito Gomez,  sadly no pictures allowed, who has just opened another restaurant in Ronda “ Tragata ‘  We also called into the new ‘ Parador De Ronda’  the ‘ state owned and run chain of hotels,  next to the world famous ‘Puente Nuevo -New Bridge ?!‘

PS; Behind the three 'Senoras's there is a strange ' Fella ' lurking!

With Sandra & Bill we had a short roam, as it was by then up to 30 degs + - so we had cool drinks as we went along, ending up on the new roof-terrace of the “ Catalonia Ronda Hotel’ opposite the famous Bull Ring, were I ordered an excellent and not expensive chilled clear-glass bottle of  “ Cava Rosado Pinot Noir “ as we sat and took in the unbelievable view over the Bull Ring to the mountains in the distance.

It was then time to jump into a taxi back up the station to catch the non-stop express train back to ‘San Roque’ before collecting the cars and the heading along as dusk was falling, along the cost road to sunny Manilva, to end another excellent day out and about on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ and up in Ronda!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
