A ' CRISP' & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 25th/ OCTOBER 2019.

I was up very early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas, as the sun was coming up above the horizon over the Mediterranean.

I called into ‘ ItZabar’ for my usual toast & tea, before going along the coast road to the ‘newish’ Mercadona’ just before Estepona, which is in front of the new ‘Hospital’ - which sadly is now not due to open until an unspecified date in 2020?!  Watch this space.

See below the latest pictures of the Hospital.

On the way back I dropped down into the local market, at the far-end of the promenade for some fresh flowers, I then called into the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers, before shooting back up the hill to unload the car.

I then had to find somewhere to park the car, in the village, as the underground car park, below the Police Station, is due to close next Thursday, for ‘repairs/maintenance’ etc – with no time/date for when it will reopen?!  I found a spot in front of the Police Station, on the side of the main road! Watch this space.

‘Scruffy’ spent the night sleeping in his executive bed, by the side of ours, this morning Brenda took him out for his first walk of the day, he’s due to be collected later this afternoon, just as ‘ Sunny’ arrives for her now ten day holiday, on Sunday little ‘Paddy’ is back with us for a sleep-over, no doubt ‘ Chispa’ will be in & out all the time to see all her old friends.

This morning, after the red sunrise, the sky cleared and was blue, as there is a stiff ‘ Lavente’ breeze blowing, with just a few patchy clouds hanging around, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 21 degs+ - over the weekend staying the same, next week is now looking mainly dry & settled, going a little warmer as the breeze drops, by next Tuesday/Wednesday back up to 25 degs+ - with just a little threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ still in the air, overnight up to a unseasonal 16/17 degs!

By next weekend as a new ‘Atlantic’ cold front comes in, it’s going to drop down to 15 degs, overnight 9 degs, by next Sunday, very cold for the time of the year, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet in a Cruzcampo Beer Batter’ – shallow fried in Vegetable Oil, until crisp & golden, served with lots of Lemon Wedges and Homemade Tartar sauce ( Brenda) -  with Garden Peas ( sadly still no Mushy Peas in stock) with of course triple-cooked ‘ Chips’

On Saturday it’s going to be a large ‘ Grilled Rib of Beef – a Chuleton ‘ with all the trimmings, then on Sunday it’s my famous ‘Smoked Chicken & Three Green Bean Risotto’

Hopefully over the weekend I will be able to post all the pictures from Wednesday when we went up to ‘ Alhaurin el Grande’ – at the moment Daniela & Lee are trying to help sort the technical/storage space problem out, watch this space.

At the moment the ‘ IPTV’ system is acting-up, so we are watching all our regular programmes via the ‘ BBC TV I-Player & ITV Hub’ – later we will be taking things easy and relaxing.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
