A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA & CASARES ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!

FRIDAY 4th/ OCTOBER 2019.   “ CANADA WEEK DAY SIX “

We managed to squeeze in a little lie in this morning, as we have a busy day ahead, after freshening up, as I was on the breakfast rota I had my now famous ‘ Toasted Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of tea.

Sandra & Bill then arrived and I made our pre-arranged ‘ Skype’ video call to Jack & Lyn over in Melbourne, Lyn’s daughter, Debbie, was also there, which was a nice surprise, so we all had a good ‘ catch-up’ with all the news, over in Australia and from Canada!

The sun was out early and the breeze had dropped, the sky was clearing, so by lunchtime, when we set off back out on our travels it was already very hot & sunny, reaching 30 degs+ - hot for the time of the year, tomorrow it’s going to be the same, for the folks last day in Spain, on Sunday as they fly out, very early from Malaga to Montreal, it will up to 31 degs+! They are going to miss the sun & heat as back at home it’s the ‘ Fall ‘ and they are already down to minus 1 degs overnight!! Hopefully they have packed some warm clothing for when they land!!

Next week, down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ it’s going a little cooler as the breeze picks up again, still hot next Monday, then hovering in the low/mid 20s,  back to normal for the time of the year, with a few patchy clouds as well as the threat in the air of the ‘Wet-Stuff’ – Watch this space.

At lunchtime we all went up in convoy, in three cars ( 10 persons) – through the mountains behind the village, up to Casares, to the ‘ Restuarante Sarmiento Brasa Andaluza ‘ where I had booked their private room, or if it was very hot, a nice table on the terrace overlooking the view of the village, as you can see below, more pictures will follow at a later date, as Neil & Nicole ( Camera) & Kritika ( Mobile Phone) have been taking loads of higher grade pictures!

I had ordered two bottles of a rather special ‘ Cava Rosado’ to start the day off and toast all the family to ‘ Health, Wealth and Happiness’ for the future.

The owner, one of the ' Sarmiento' brothers welcomed us to the restuarant and Casares!

We mainly chose from the ‘ BBQ Menu Del Dia  ‘ – at three course’s for 15 Euros, very good value, most of us had to start the ‘Scrambled Eggs with Mushrooms & Prawn’ on crisp toast, for our main course, either BBQ Pork, Beef and Swordfish was picked, with various Potatoes and a very good mixed ‘Stir-Fried’ Vegetables. All washed down with Red of White wine and a selection of beers and drinks’!

A memorable day with Sandra & Bill, Alanna & Blake, Neil & Nicole and Dylan & Kritika ( getting married very soon after they return!) ‘Thanks for another ‘ Helluva ‘ Day – Sandra & Bill.

This evening we are all taking things easy, as tomorrow they are planning a ‘ Last Supper ‘ down at the Villa, on Saturday evening, to use up all the food, mainly cooked on the BBQ,  by Blake, the Chef!

We are going down later in the afternoon, as the sun moves round, with a little surprise guest, as little ‘ Winnie’ – the miniature’ Black Pug’ is joining us back in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ for a nine day holiday, tomorrow morning, Stuart & Christine called us yesterday evening to see if we could have her, at short notice, so we said ‘Yes’!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
