A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 26th/ OCTOBER 2019.     “ SANDRA’S BIRTHDAY “

We managed a little lie this morning as the village is very quiet, after freshening up we had our usual Saturday morning breakfast of Brenda’s famous ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on toast for me, Scrambled on brown for Brenda, with mugs of hot tea.

‘Sunny’ has settled in very well and is into our routine, she’s eating well and has found her ‘ spots’ when we are out walking around the village, last night she slept on the three settees, as she usually does, after we gave her the option of  sleeping in our bedroom on a ‘ make-up’ bed/rug/duvet! This morning Brenda took her out for the first walk of the day. Little ‘ Paddy’ is due to arrive back with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ tomorrow lunchtime, for his one-night sleep-over, ‘ Chispa’ has been in & out all the time.

After breakfast I settled down in front of the TV to watch the Semi-Final of the ‘Rugby Union World Cup’ from Japan, as England took on the un-beaten favourites, the 'New Zealand All Blacks’ –  who proved no match for the inspired English team who “ WON’ 19- 7 !!

Tomorrow morning in the second Semi-Final Wales face South Africa, come on Wales!

This morning the breeze has dropped and the sun is slowly breaking through, there are few patchy clouds hanging around, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 22 degs+ - the same again tomorrow, next week is now looking to get warmer, by Tuesday, when it will be back up to 25 degs+ - overnight hovering on 15/16 degs mark,- staying in the mid 20s over next weekend, before the cold ‘Atlantic’ front comes in the following week, watch this space.

On the sports front this weekend; over in the ‘Premiere League’ -  Manchester City welcome Aston Villa, Everton have the long journey down to Brighton and Liverpool are at home to Tottenham Hotspur, here in ‘La Liga’ the ‘ Derby Game’ between Barcelona & Real Madrid has been cancelled because of the riots in Barcelona! This weekend it’s the ‘ Mexican Grand Prix’  as Lewis Hamilton goes to secure his sixth title! This afternoon the ‘ National Hunt Jump Racing’ season resumes, with coverage from Cheltenham & Kelso.

“ SANDRA’S BIRTHDAY “

Over in Everett, Ontario, Canada today Sandra is celebrating her birthday, back at home, as the kids all come home to have dinner this evening, all together, as tomorrow it’s the Wedding of Bill’s son Dylan & Kritika! One ‘ Helluva’ Weekend! We have arranged a ‘ Skype’ video link up later this evening ( 11-00 pm) to catch up with all the family and wish Sandra   “ Happy Birthday- Feliz Cumpleaños “

This evening for our supper we are having a large ‘ Grilled Rib of Beef – a Chuleton’ – cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare’ then left to rest, before taking it off the bone and slicing it into fingers ‘ French’ style, garnished with seared Baby Mushrooms and for a change ‘Deep-Fried Onion Rings’ coated in the ‘Tempura Cruzcampo Beer Batter’ – accompanied with a classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce and served with finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans and of course triple-cooked ‘ Frits’

This evening after supper we will be watching the next episode of ‘Spirall 7’ on BBC Four – the French police crime drama, based in Paris, with excellent sub-titles!

PS; Remember the clocks go back an hour on Sunday!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
