A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 9th/ MAY 2019.

I was up early, again, this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off across along the coast road, to the ‘ Estepona Hospital’ for my final appointment this week at the ‘Physiotherapy Department’ with Encarni, the ‘ Head Physio’ – I first dip my hand ( 5 times!) in the very hot water/wax bath, it forms a warm glove over my left-hand, left for 20 minutes, then after scraping it off it’s time for manipulation exercise’s before Encarni massages and stretches my fingers, finally more strength exercise’s.

Back at the house Brenda had a little lie in as ‘ Chico’ was finally picked up later yesterday afternoon, it was a mix-up with the sister who was collecting him, he will be back in the not too distant future, when he’s gone we miss him terribly, as we get used to having him around, ‘Chispa’ as usual is in & out all the time.

It’s another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – the sun was out early and the sky had already cleared by the time I set off, there were a few clouds, with a bright blue sky, as I shot past the calm & blue/green Mediterranean, there is just a very slight breeze, making it very pleasant to be out & about, by lunchtime it will be 27 degs+ - overnight hovering at 17/18 degs, tomorrow is going to be very hot, reaching 30 degs+ - on Saturday the same, then on Sunday it’s going a little cooler as the ‘ Lavante’ breeze picks up, next week is also staying the same, with a few patchy clouds, hovering all week in the mid 20s, with more to come the following week, watch this space.

At lunchtime we went along to ‘ Bar Castillo ‘ and sat outside in the very hot sunshine, for a nice cool drink and ‘ Tapas’ – including ‘ Tiger Prawns’ on Skewers & ‘ Chicken Korma’ with Frits! Watching the World go by, taking in the sights & sounds of sleepy/sunny Manilva.

For our supper this evening we are having a ‘ Fry-Up’ of the leftovers, from last night, with more ‘ Spanish Lamb Chops/Steaks’ – on Friday it will be a ‘ Fish Supper’ and then on Saturday our ‘ Steak Night’ – on Sunday we are going to have a ‘ Roast’ after I pick something up at the ‘ English Butchers’ tomorrow morning ( Beef?!)  Watch this space.

This weekend in the village all the local political parties are having election meetings, at various venues, the four main parties are the ‘ Compromiso, ( new Communist)  IU, (old Communist)  POSE ( Labour) & PP’ ( Conservative) – our voting papers arrived in the post yesterday, as we are registered to vote in the local elections on March 26th

See below the ‘ Mayor’ Mario, our neighbour, opening his meeting of the “ Compromiso’ Party and with his wife & two sons as it was his Birthday!

Yesterday evening after supper we watched the second leg of the semi-final of the ‘ UEFA Champions League’ as Tottenham Hotspur travelled to Amsterdam to play AFC Ajax, who were leading with a away goal, it started badly for ‘Spurs’ as Ajax scored two quick goals to lead 3-0 at half time, the argentine Manager, of Spurs, ‘Mauricio Pochettino’ brought on the very tall Spanish Centre Forward ‘Fernando Llorente’ and the two young centre backs of Ajax could not manage him, as he assisted the Brazilian ‘Lucas Mora’ to score two goals, then in the 6th minute of injury time he scored a 3rd- his hat-trick, to make it 3-3 on aggregate on  the night, as ‘Spurs’ won on the away goal rule!

Another sensational comeback, from an English team, after Liverpool’s destruction of Barcelona, the Ajax players & fans were celebrating at half-time, only to be totally out-played, the ‘ Spurs’ fans and players, as was the Manger were in tears of joy as they will face Liverpool in the final in three weeks time, just to remind you that Liverpool have beaten Spurs ‘ in the ‘ Premiere League’ this season, 2-1 , home & away!!

After supper we will be channel hopping to find something to watch, as all the new series are not due to start until next week, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
