A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA & CASARES ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 25th / MAY 2019.

We had a nice long lie in this morning, in fact we overslept! Brenda was on the breakfast rota so I had her famous ‘Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast, Scrambled for herself, with Brown Toast fingers, with mugs of hot tea. We then quickly showered and got ourselves ready to go out.

We met Kevin & Caroline outside their apartment, down in Sabinillas, with their friends Simon & Sally, we then drove in convoy up to Casares to ‘Restaurante Sarmiento’ for our ‘ Al Fresco’ lunch out on the terrace, on a nice round tables overlooking the spectacular views.

See the ' Gang' below!

I ordered a nice bottle of the ‘House Cava’- while we read the ‘A La Carte Menu’ – we all decided to not have a starter, the three ladies had the ‘ Salmon Teriyaki ’ resting on Creamed Potato, Simon had the ‘ Sea Bass with Garlic Salsa and Simon & I had the ‘ Special Version of Fish & Chips’ – which sadly was not ‘ special’- the Salmon & Sea Bass were perfect! I choose a very nice ‘Verdejo Rueda ‘ to go with all the all fish.

For the dessert two of the ladies had warm Butterscotch Biscuits with Cream, Brenda & Simon had a nice platter of local Cheeses and I had an excellent thin sliced Apple Tort ( Baked to order) with Vanilla Ice Cream, a selection of four house Liqueurs was left on the table, as we sang ‘ Happy Birthday’ to Caroline!

See the pictures below;

On our way back down to Sabinillas we stopped at ‘ Venta la Vista’ and had a couple of very nice chilled bottles of the ‘House Cava Rosado’ to end a perfect day, ‘Thanks’ Kevin & Caroline, have a ‘Helluva’ Birthday Weekend’ – it was also very nice to meet your dear friends Simon & Sally – perfect company for an excellent lunch ( despite the ‘ Fish n ‘ Chips!)

NB; The Blog will be back to normal tomorrow, as usual, with all the weather, sport, food, etc along with the local gossip!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
