AT THE MOMENT A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 10th/ OCTOBER 2018.

I was up early again this morning to welcome back ‘Reina’ – Lee arrived late, as they have had a flood, of sewage, in the cellar of their grand  villa, Daniela’ is on ‘ mop-duty’ and finding sandbags!

Overnight the severe rain storms had hit them, further down the coast on the top of ‘La Paloma’ -
where the villa is, we heard the thunder & lightening during the night, as well as a little light rain, we have been very lucky, as yesterday we missed the cloud bursts and flash flooding, that hit San Pedro Alcantara, Marbella and Alhaurin El Grande, and all over other parts of Spain, in fact at lunchtime we were sat outside ‘ Bar Castillo’- in the warm sunshine, for a nice cool drink & Tapas!

In Majorca at least six people have been killed and more are missing, we have just spoken, on the ‘ Skype’ Audi-Call to Norah & Jenny over in Runcorn, as they flew back, late last night from Menorca, but missed the storms, they have had a nice holiday and sent their love to Sandra & Bill, as this time last year, they were here in sunny Manilva to welcome the folks for the first time!  “ Happy Days & Memories “ !!

After freshening up Brenda took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, he was under the bed all night, especially as he dosn’t like thunder & lightening! I stayed back at the house as the ‘Gas-Bottle’ delivery man was due, he arrived, the price of the gas bottle’s has gone up, it’s controlled by the Government( Junta ) but usually goes down at this time of the year?!

PS; At the moment the Euro is up against the Pound, and is still rising, good news as one of our main transfers arrived, later than usual, yesterday!

For our breakfast I made our now famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea, when she returned from her walk with the dog. The menu for tonight’s supper has changed a little, we are now having ‘Pan-Seared Lambs Liver’ – coated in seasoned flour & ‘ flash’ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Pink’ - garnished with Grilled ‘English’ Pork Sausages, with a sauceboat of a rich Red Wine, Mushroom & Shallot Onion Salsa, with Glazed Carrot Batons & Diamond-Cut Runner Beans, not forgetting the ‘ Rissolees ‘ Potatoes!

On bit of sad news this morning is that our favourite ‘ Sunday Roast Lunch Restaurant “ Kokomo “ has closed earlier this year, they had problems at the start of the year when their neighbours made an ‘ Denuncia’ about the loud music, their music licence was not in order, so the Council & local Police raided them and closed the restaurant, on a Sunday lunchtime! Sadly Simon & Sally have now left, we wish them all the very best for the future, they could not be beaten on price, service & quality, where are we going to go now?!  Watch this space.

As I said above we are in the middle of a very unsettled weather front, all the forecasts are different, with severe storms in places, along the ‘Costa Del Sol’- which is on ‘ Red Alert’  See Below;

The overall temperatures are still hovering in the mid 20s,down to 16/17 degs at night time, the rest of the week is now looking the same, over the weekend when the folks arrive on Sunday, is at the moment dry & sunny, with patchy clouds, next week we are in for more of the same, getting a little warmer, as the week goes on, the following week on the long-range forecast is not looking so good, watch this space.

See below the beach down in Sabinillas this morning, after all the thunder & lightening had passed!

We are taking things easy for the rest of the day, Brenda is on one of her ‘ ing’ modes, washing, drying, polishing, ironing, cleaning, etc, as I up in the office/studio on the ‘ WWW’ – then typing/posting today’s Blog, later we settle down to relax and catch up with all the news, then channel hop to find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
