A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 6th/ OCTOBER 2018.

We managed a little lie in this morning before the sound of 2/3 workmen/painters on the roof/patio of the new apartment block next to us in the side street, woke us up!  ‘ Spanish’ workers are loud & noisy !!

After a quick freshen up we took ‘ Chico’ for his first walk of the day around the bottom of the village, he slept all night under the bed, as usual, when we came back Brenda was on the breakfast rota, so we had her famous ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast, Scrambled on Brown for her, with mugs of strong tea, later she is shampooing he hair, I will be up in the office/studio on the ‘ WWW’ and then later typing/posting today’s Blog.

Lee then called in to help with various technical problems on the computer system, after all the excitement of the past couple of weeks, he’s updated the ‘Skype’ system to the latest version, re-set a payment method on the ‘BBC I Player’ control system, which means that we now have another way to watch live TV, when the new ‘ IPTV’ system is ‘ acting-up’- as well as updating the ‘ITV Hub’ for the same reason. He then cancelled the ‘ Spotify’ account, which at the moment I don’t need.

Finally he installed the new Online Banking System, with our Bank, which was great news as the ‘Bank’s Fraud Department’ had yesterday reimbursed the missing money!!  “ RESULT “

NB; More good news as the ‘ Euro’ exchange rate, against the Pound, this weekend, has gone up to it’s highest, for nearly six months, meaning that one of our main transfers on Monday will be up, for the first time in months!! “ RESULT “

Now for some not so good news on the weather front over next week and then the following week, when the folks are here from Canada, today & tomorrow it’s still going to be warm & sunny, reaching 29 degs+ - from Monday it’s changing, still warm & sunny , hovering in the mid 20s, with patchy clouds, going a little cooler, as the breeze blows in and with on one of the forecasts, lots of ‘ Rain’ – from Tuesday onwards, especially the following week,  despite it hovering in the low 20s, so the ‘ wet-stuff’ will be warm!  They can buy their umbrellas here!! Watch this space. ( Sorry!)

Over in Liverpool this weekend the “ Royal De Luxe “ – ‘ GIANTS’ – created in the mind of the eccentric French ‘ Artist’ – Jean-Luc Courcoult, from Nantes, with a team of over 100 hundred workers/puppeteer’s have taken over the City Centre, the Docks and the Wirral!

See a selection of pictures above;

This evening for our supper we are having a large ‘ Grilled Rib of Beef’ – on the bone, cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left to rest, before taking it off the bone and slicing it into fingers ‘ French’ style, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms, with a classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce on the side, with whole ‘ French’ Green Beans,  not forgetting another ‘French’ classic,  twice-cooked ‘ Pont Neuf’ – ‘Frits’ ( Doorsteps!)

On the sports front this weekend; Lewis Hamilton is on the Pole position, his 80th – over at the ‘Japanese Grand Prix’ at Suzuka, on Sunday, as Ferrari made an error on tyre choice.

Over here in ‘ La Liga’ lowly Alaves welcome Real Madrid and tomorrow Barcelona travel across to play Valencia, back in the ‘UK’- Everton travels down the M6 to play Leicester City and tomorrow, in the ‘ Match of the Day’ Liverpool welcome Manchester City –  with Klopp v Guardiola- the two top managers going head to head, watch this space.

After supper ‘ fingers crossed ‘ we will be channel hopping and watching later the excellent and very gripping, next episode of “ Killing Eve “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
