A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 7th/ OCTOBER 2018.

We had a nice lie in this morning as the village was very quiet, no Church Bells, until later, no children playing, too early, no deliveries, as it’s Sunday, and no traffic, as ‘ Calle Mar ‘ is closed! After a quick freshen up Brenda took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day and I started the preparations for today’s ‘ Roast’

We had a quick toast & tea before getting things on the go, I got the ‘ Roast Topside of Beef’ – Boned & Rolled –  it rests on a ‘ Trivet’ of assorted/chopped vegetables etc, before going into a very hot oven, checked with a skewer as is roasts, until it’s ‘Pink, no Blood’

The ‘ Vegetable Chef’ has gone ‘ Mad ‘ – Cauliflower Florets in a Three Cheese Sauce, Crushed Carrots & Turnips, Glazed Brussels Sprouts, Braised Alcelgas ( Swiss-Chard ) Baked Onion & Garden Peas ( for Me!) with her famous ‘ Mashed Potato’ – not forgetting the Par-Boiled Potatoes, for my famous ‘ Duck Fat Roast Potatoes ‘ – which will go in the oven this evening, along with the ‘Yorkshire Puddings, I finally made my ‘ finger-licking’ Pan Gravy.

We have another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva, the sun broke through earlier this morning, the clouds have cleared and the sky is blue, there is just a very slight breeze, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 31 degs+! Hot for the time of the year! At the start of next week it’s going a little cooler, as the breeze blows in, hovering in the mid 20s, with still the threat of the ‘ wet-stuff’ in the air, as the week goes on, by Friday and over next weekend it’s settling down, with patchy clouds, but still warm, the following week is now looking dry & warm, staying in the mid 20s, as the ‘ folks’ start their two-week adventure down here on the Costa Del Sol’

See below the beach, down in Sabinillas this morning !

Speaking of the ‘ folks’ – yesterday early evening we had a nice chat & catch up with Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, on the ‘ Skype’ video, their weather is starting to cool down, one morning this week it was down to just 1 deg, the next day back up to 25 degs?! It’s ‘ Harvest Thanksgiving’ over in Canada, so they were relaxing and later meeting up with Neil & Blake, they are all prepared for next weekend , when they set off from Toronto, on Friday, to fly overnight, into Barcelona on Saturday afternoon, they are staying at the ‘ Hotel Porta Fira’ in the centre of the City and are planning to do the main sights, including the ‘ Segrada Familia ‘

On Sunday they have a flight from Barcelona into Malaga, arriving in the early afternoon ( fingers-crossed!) – to collect their hire car, we are meeting them down in Sabinillas and will show then to their apartment, just 1 minute away, which we are picking up the keys for on Saturday, from the agent. Watch this space.

Just a quick update on the spots results; Everton won 1-2 & Real Madrid lost 1-0, Lewis Hamilton won the ‘Japanese Grand Prix’

Last night after supper we caught the next exciting episode of ‘ Killing Eve’ – with just two killings and one attempted this week!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
