A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 5th/ OCTOBER 2018.

I was up very early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas, as the full ‘Red Sun ‘ was coming up above a calm Mediterranean.

See below a picture taken this morning from the studio window of ‘Castle Radio FM & Online on the WWW’

Meanwhile back at the house Brenda took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, down around the bottom of the village, he slept all night, as usual, under the bed. He goes home a week tonight, he’s back at Xmas for two weeks.

I called into ‘ ItZabar’ for a quick toast & tea before ‘ Mercadona’ opened, I had a ‘ Mega-Shop’ – I even had an assistant to help me pack at the check out!  Next I stopped at the ‘English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers, before dropping down into the ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ to call into the ‘English Butchers’ – then I shot along to the far end of the promenade to call into the local market for our fresh flowers & wall plants, finally on the way back up the hill I went into ‘ Super Sol’ for the ‘ English’ essentials, before shooting back up through the vine fields to unload back at the house, I came along ‘ Calle Mar’ which is open until 2-00 pm and came down our street to the house.

We have arranged to call Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, at 6-00pm our time, mid-day over there, on the ‘ Skype’ video, as it’s ‘Thanksgiving’ weekend and the folks have a busy time with family & friends. The ‘ Countdown’ begins, as they are due to arrive here in sunny Manilva on the 14th October!!

As I said above there was a spectacular sunrise this morning, the sky is clear & blue with no clouds and just a very light breeze, a perfect and very pleasant day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – by lunchtime it’s due to reach 25 degs+ - over the weekend getting even a little hotter, next week is looking warm & sunny, with patchy clouds at times, meaning that there is still a chance of the ‘ wet-stuff’ to come, as the breeze get up a little, by next weekend and into the following week, when the folks have arrived, it will be a little cooler, hovering in the low 20s, we might need the umbrellas, watch this space.

This evening it’s the launch of the new ‘Events’ booklet with all the details, for next coming six months, down at the ‘ Castillo de Duquesa’ – showing what the various ‘Council’ departments have arranged, see below.

For our supper this evening we are having  “ Fillets of Hake in a ‘ Cruzcampo’ Beer Batter “ – served with Mushy Peas & twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – on the side Homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce and lots of Lemon wedges.

On Saturday it’s going to be a large ‘Grilled Rib of Beef’ - on the bone, with the classic ‘ Pont Neuf ‘ – doorstep frits!

For our ‘ Roast’ on Sunday I bought a nice boned & rolled ‘ Top-Side of Beef’- which we will have with all the usual vegetables and not forgetting the ‘ Duck-Fat Roast Potatoes!!

Last night Lee & Daniela came online and helped me fix some technical problems, Lee is calling in over the weekend to check on the new ‘IPTV’ system, which came back on late last night, so hopefully we will be able to watch all the sport over the weekend, as well as our regular serials, watch this space.

Thought s for the Day; See above.
