A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 15TH  / APRIL 2016.

I was up first again this morning to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the last day this week, I left her & Brenda having a lie in as I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping. I called into our bank and then stopped at the ‘English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers, it was then time for the main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ before going along to the far end of the promenade some fresh flowers & plants, lastly I called into ‘ Super Sol’ for the English essentials.

Its yet another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out early and the sky is clear, there is a little breeze this morning, making it very pleasant, the forecast for over the weekend and into next week is for more of the same, its getting warmer during the night and its reaching 25/26 degs during the day, back to normal for this time of the year! As I drove down through the vine fields, the leaves are shooting up, the Mediterranean was sparking.

Last night after supper we watched the next episode of “ Line of Duty “ – it was very gripping as the lady cop who was sent to prison won her appeal and came out seeking vengeance, it looks like she was framed, more revelations about the abuse in the child’s home came to light, it looks like retired senior police officers were involved, the cover up was helped by ‘ Masons’ and the corrupt cop working in the anti corruption squad is framing the main investigating office! Watch this space.

Meanwhile over in England it was the ‘Europa League’ Quarter-Final taking place at Anfield in Liverpool, as they welcomed Borussia Dortmund’ their new managers, Jurgen Klopp’s old club, the Germans took the lead 3-1 and then in the second half Liverpool played brilliantly and won in the 91st minute 4-3 ( 5-4 agg ) !! Emotion, Drama, Excitement, Brilliant Football, Noise, Colour and the ‘ Kop’ singing its heart out!!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet’ using local breadcrumbs from the bakery, homemade ‘Tartar Sauce’ with Mushy Peas & diced ‘ Frits’ Tomorrow night its going to be ‘ Tournedos Rossini’ and then on Sunday ‘ Medallions of Pork Fillet’ See this evenings supper without the 'Frits' - the Oil burned !!

We are catching up with the chores around the house, Brenda is doing a little cleaning in the lounge and kitchen, the new wall plants have gone out and all the wall pots have been watered, the fresh flowers have been arranged, all the washing & drying & ironing is up to date, the shopping is away. Time to take it easy for the rest of the day and relax!

We are waiting to hear from a old member of staff who used to work for us at ‘ The Pollard Inn’ in Willaston, on the Wirral, as a student many years ago, ‘Izzy’ now works in Chester promoting local food, drink & restaurants, we have kept in touch via ‘ Facebook’ – she’s here on holiday staying at a hotel in Puerto Banus so we are going to try and meet up for lunch/dinner – watch this space.

PS;   WATCH OUT FOR A SURPRISE ' NEWSFLASH ' TOMORROW !!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
