A CLEAR & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 16th / APRIL 2016.

We managed a nice lie in this morning before the delivery’s started down our street, gas bottles & goods for the shop, Brenda then had a quick shower before breakfast, she had a toasted ‘Smoked Bacon Butty’ and I had ‘ Campo Fried Eggs with Smoked Bacon’ with buttered toast and mugs of steaming tea; we then watched ‘ Saturday Kitchen Live’ with this time a young Irish TV food presenter/writer Donal Skehan who was rather good & professional.

This morning its mild & little overcast but the forecast is for it to pick up later when the sun breaks through, the sky is clearing and there is still a little breeze, overnight is now a lot warmer and by this afternoon its due to reach 25 degs, over the next few days we have more of the same .if a little cooler and there is the threat of some of the wet stuff in the air as another tail end of an Atlantic storm could hit us! See below our house at lunchtime as all the new plants start to show!

PS, Today's washing has just gone out up on the 'roof patio in the sky' as its perfect drying weather!

Its another big sports weekend, over in the ‘ Premiere League’ Everton have to travel all the way down to Southampton and Manchester City are in London as they play Chelsea later, Tomorrow Liverpool also have a long journey as they are down at Bournemouth; over here in ‘ La Liga’ Real Madrid play their near neighbours Getafe just down the road and Barcelona welcome Valencia on Sunday. Its the ‘ Chinese Grand Prix’ with Hamilton starting at the back of the grid due to engine problems, then this afternoon we will be watching the Horse Racing from Ayr as its the ‘ Scottish Grand National’

The picture below show the Albert Dock in Liverpool last night and then this morning.

For our supper this evening we are having the classic “ Tournedos Rossini’ – Fillet Steak wrapped in Smoked Bacon then seared on a very hot griddle plate before going into a hot oven to cook ‘ Med-Rare’ They are served on a toasted ‘ Crute’ with a ‘Quenelles’ of Iberia Pate on the top of the steaks, surrounded with a strong Red Wine Meat Glaze, then garnished with whole Green Beans and on the side twice-cooked ‘Chips’ See below;

NEWSFLASH; ‘ SIR’ MALCOLM’S SATURDAY RADIO SHOW IS STARTING !

Yesterday afternoon I received a Skype message from Andrew at ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online’ offering me a spot on the excellent local radio station; I said YES!! Its going to be a two hour programme on Saturday mornings from 11-00 am – 1-00 pm on a regular slot, I will be playing and talking about my favourite music from the 60s, an eclectic mix from my early days growing up in Liverpool to the sound of the ‘ Mersey Beat’! With the help of Lee & Daniela, who are going to set up the computer systems, so as I can broadcast ‘ Live’ from my studio here in sunny Manilva, its rather exciting and just a little daunting at the same time, watch and listen to this space!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
