A VERY CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 15th / FEBRUARY 2016.

I got up this morning to welcome back little princess ‘Reina’ for the day , she’s with us for the next five days up to Friday; I then shot back upstairs with her, she went into her duvet across the foot of the bed and I shot under the covers as its rather cold and still windy, overnight we had gale force winds coming down from the Artic, its dry and the forecast is for the wind to drop to a light breeze by lunchtime, the sky is blue the sun is now out so it will reach 17 degs by this afternoon, the next few days are looking settled with more of the same weather.

Sadly Brenda had a nasty fall yesterday afternoon when she went outside and slipped on the wet street outside the front door as she was seeing ‘Chispa’ home down our street, she’s twisted her ankle rather badly and was in a lot of pain, some passing people and Andres from ‘Bodegon  Andaluz’ came to her rescue and picked her up! I put an ice pack on her foot and  she retired to the settee to keep it up for the rest of the day, we sprayed it with some cooling ointment and  she has stayed in bed this morning to take things easy, she’s moaning already that she’s bored! I took her tea & toast up and she’s taken her regular tablets, later we are going to put a crepe bandage on to support the ankle! Watch this space.

I sent in a request to ' Castle Radio FM 89.2'  on the Breakfast show with Andrew Charles,he played 'Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison' for Brenda and wished her a speedy recovery!

I shot down to the butchers after breakfast and bought some Hamburgers ( Beef, Pork & Chicken !) that he has just made, to go in the deep freeze for another day, along with some of his very good ‘Stewing Beef’ for tomorrow nights supper when I’m going to make a ‘ Beef & Mushroom Casserole’ to have with Cabbage and Mashed Potatoes. This evening we are having ‘Lincolnshire Pork Sausages’ ( Iceland!) with Smoked Bacon, Baby Mushrooms & Tomato, fried ‘Campo’ Eggs with sauté Potatoes.

Yesterday afternoon we watched the ‘ Six Nations Rugby Union’ as England won 9-40 against Italy as they finally played some good rugby in the second half! Liverpool beat Aston Villa 0-6! Manchester City lost at home to Tottenham 1-2 and slipped down the League as ‘Spurs’ moved up! Over here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona won 6-1 against Celta De Vigo as Messi scored a penalty by passing the ball to Suarez so as he could score his hat trick!!

After supper we caught on ‘BBC 2’ a very good and interesting documentary about Greece as Simon Reeve travelled around the spectacular country, he showed why Greece’s economy is in such a mess, the Government has miss- used all the ‘Common Market ‘ money over the past years, they have a very modern railway system that the Greek people can’t afford to travel on, they now say that it would cheaper to pay people to travel by Taxi and pay for them then the cost of running the railway! On another front they are the biggest users of coal fired ‘Power Stations’ with the largest open cast coal field in Europe, the money for the future Power industry was to be used to start Solar Energy?!

They also showed in the suburbs of Athens, where all the rich live, that there are over 30,000 swimming pools but only 300 people have paid the tax on them! The ‘Greek Orthodox Church’ Monks are paid by the Government and set the ‘School Curriculum’ like centuries ago!! No wonder they are in a mess with a totally Corrupt system!!

Finely we ended up back on BBC 1 and watched the “ BAFTA” Awards from London as the film “ The Revenant” won five ‘BAFTA’S’ including Best Film & Director as well as the leading Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
