MONDAY 8th/ FEBRUARY 2016.
We had a little lie in this morning as ‘Reina’
was not due until 10.30am, she’s with us everyday this week up to Friday. We
then had our normal breakfast and afterwards we shot down to Sabinillas to get
our new Passport photos taken, once again with no luck, the shop was not open
at 11-00am ( Should be 10.00am!) – its the fourth attempt so we have given up
and are trying ‘Plan B’ – this afternoon we are going to our local photo shop
in the village, 'Foto Sausana' which is part of one of the local bars, 'El Rincon de Alcantara' and hopefully Susana is going to look after us, Brenda called in on the way back and checked with her husband Paco, watch
this space! Result, we now have two sets of ' Convict' pictures!!
Its another beautiful day here in sunny
Manilva, the sun is out and the skies are blue, there is just a little breeze
and by lunchtime it due to reach 18 degs, the rest of the week is looking
settled and getting a little warmer, I’ve just spoken to Tim over in Old
Colwyn, North Wales, where ‘Storm Imogen’ has hit them with gale force winds of
over 55 mph! I was letting him know about the local golf course rates etc after
checking with Carlos, Mano’s son, who can also arrange very good cheap rates
with the local course at ‘ Casares Golf’ including a ‘free’ buggy!
Just some updates on the sports news over
the weekend, here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona won 0-1 & Real Madrid also won 0-1
while over in England Manchester City were murdered by Leicester 1-3.The
Ireland v Wales game in the ‘Six Nations Rugby Union’ was very exciting and
ended up a 16-16 draw! ( Sexton scored for Ireland!)
For our supper this evening we are having ‘Escalope
of Pork Schnitzels’ using local breadcrumbs from the bakery, ‘Holstein Style’ –
topped with Capers & Anchovy Fillets and a ‘Campo Fried Egg! and 'Spaghetti Milanese' – with whole Green
Beans. Tomorrow night we are having a ‘Steak Pie’ ( Iceland ) with Chips! It
will then be time for a dessert of ‘Crepes’ with Vanilla Ice Cream as its ‘Shove’
Tuesday!
At the moment I’m listening to ‘Castle
Radio FM 89.2’ via the ‘IT’ connection on my second screen as I’m typing and
posting this Blog, I sing along and occasionally get up and dance! Fingers
crossed that I will still get the call to bring my ‘Classic Radio Show’ live ‘on
air’ to the masses! Watch this space.
The late movie last night was “ Now You See
Me “ from 2013 a ‘Caper’ thriller with Jesse Elsenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody
Harrelson, Melanie Laurant, Dave Franco, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman! –
its about four gifted magicians who turn to robbing, but give the money to their
audiences at their shows?!
