A CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY

WEDNESDAY 10th/ FEBRUARY 2016.

I was up this morning to welcome back ‘Reina’ for the day, she shot upstairs and goes into her duvet, which we put across the foot of our bed, I followed and dived under the duvet with the ‘Child Bride’ for a little lie in!

Overnight the wind returned and it was quiet blustery with the shutters rattling, its still breezy this morning and a little overcast, the sun will brake through later and its due to reach 18/19 degs, tomorrow there is the possibility of some of the wet stuff as the end of the Atlantic storm moves on, over the weekend its going a little warmer and the breeze is dropping so we are in for a more settled period.

Yesterday afternoon we shot down to Sabinillas to the ‘English Bookshop’ were Steve filled in the necessary documents online, the only problem was that I had forgot to take my glasses off in my Passport photos! I had to shoot back up to the village and managed to catch ‘Susana’ who took more pictures of me with no glasses! I then charged back down through the vine fields to Sabinillas. He then carried on and finished the paperwork and posted off the documents and Passports – watch this space in two weeks time!

See below the 'Rogues Gallery' - they have escaped and the local Police are looking for them!

For our breakfast this morning we had ‘ Crepes’ with Maple Syrup – as we could not manage them last night! For our supper this evening we are having ‘Escalope of Chicken Fillet’ pan-fried in foaming Lemon Butter with dry-sauteed thick-cut slices of Baked Potatoes & whole Green Beans with a sauceboat of my famous Tomato Salsa on the side; tomorrow evening its going to be Grilled ‘Smoked Gammon Steaks’ ( Iceland ! ) with Garden Peas and ‘Frits’ – topped with Pineapple and of course a ‘Campo’ Fried Egg!

Later this morning we are showering and freshening ourselves up, I will then pop along to the chemists in Calle Mar for my tablets – keep taking them as the Doctor says!

Yesterday evening we watched BBC 1/2 TV and caught the various quiz shows before catching up with Michael Portillo on his ‘Great American Railway Journeys’ Later we watched the first episode of new series of  the award winning “ Happy Valley “ with Sarah Lancashire in the main role, its very gripping and realistic with a terrific story line, all the actors in the other parts are very good and after reading up on last years first series we can’t wait to follow the plot as it unfolds – watch this space!

We then came back over to ‘TVE1’ and caught the late film “ The Great Raid “ from 2005 which is a true story of the American ‘Rangers’ & Filipino resistance rescuing over 500 American ‘POWs’  from the Japanese Prison Camp at Cabanatuan on the island of Luzon, Philippines at the end of ‘World War 11’ It stars Benjamin Bratt, James Franco, Joseph Fiennes, Marton Csokas & Connie Nielson as the nurse that smuggled medicine into the camp. It was the largest rescue mission in US military history and at the end of the film it shows the actual pictures/film of the ‘POWs’ that are depicted in the movie as they are welcomed home!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
