A VERY CRISP & NOW SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 13th/ JANUARY 2016.

We had a little lie in this morning as the village and the workmen on the site were quiet; overnight it kept dry but very cold and this morning its started overcast and cloudy with a stiff breeze, by lunchtime the sun will break through and its will warm up a little, the rest of the week up to the weekend is forecasting more of the same.

So  after breakfast we sorted ourselves out for the day ahead, we are  showering later in the morning as we are going over to the hospital past Marbella later this afternoon for Brenda’s re-arranged appointment with her ‘Heart Consultant’ for her results of her scan/check up etc. On the way we are calling into our local surgery in the village to make another appointment with the Chiropodist and while we at the hospital we are going to make an appointment for an eye check up for Brenda , which is due!

Yesterday lunchtime I spoke to Tim over in Old Colwyn, North Wales, on the Mobile phone, he was ringing to let us know about an old friends death over the weekend, at the end of January, for Thea’s birthday they are flying over to Barcelona/Lleida to go and see Jo who is working as an English teacher in the old historic town of Lleida in Western Catalonia; he is also planning to come down to us at the end of February for some golf, possibly with a golfing buddy! Watch this space.

At the end of this month David & Jane are flying over to Malaga and are staying at the H10 **** Hotel in Estepona for three days, we have cleared the decks, no residents in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ – we are going into training, we are checking all our options, food/restaurant wise, planning excursions out and most importantly the outfits and what to drink ie, ‘Champagne or Cava’ ?! Watch this space.

On the menu front for the next two days we are digging into the deep freeze, on Friday its going to be my famous ‘Seafood Risotto’ and then on Sunday, as we are out in the evening to pick up Mano & Anna from the airport over in Gibraltar, its going to be a late ‘Brunch/Mixed Grill’ cooked by the ‘Pirate’ Chef in his lair!!

Last night after before supper we channel hopped over on BBC 1/BBC 2 and watched various programmes including ‘Great British Railway Journeys’ with Michael Portillo down on the spectacular South Coast from Dover down to Cornwall and finally ‘Lands End’! We then after supper watched a ‘Jean Claude Van Damme’ movie with all the usual fighting, stabbing, killing, car chases etc. on one of the Commercial Spanish Channels which has the 7 minute commercial breaks including two near the end, one minute apart!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
