A CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 17th JANUARY 2016.

We had another good long lie in this morning, which is just as good as I’m feeling a little under the weather with a nasty cough, its the first time I’ve had a cough in my life, my Dad used to rub hot Olive Oil all over me when I was a child back in the 50s! I can’t find any volunteers now!! The ‘Night Nurse’ - ‘ Brenda’ has given me a cough mixture as well as a warm Lemon & Honey drink and is watching over me! I will survive!

This morning has started a little grey and overcast but no doubt it will pick up later, the forecast is for it to get a little warmer and keeping dry, the start of next week is looking settled which is good as we are out and about on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ again. ‘Chispa’ came crashing in this morning with the ‘wind’ in her tail as is playing around my feet as I’m typing and posting the Blog, next week in ‘Doggy World Heaven’  little princess ‘Reina’ is with us on Tuesday & Thursday for the day, See the weather map below.

On Tuesday Brenda has an early appointment at her hairdressers down in Sabinillas for a cut & blow, we then have an appointment with the family solicitors to re-negotiate the contract on the house and later we are having our passport photos taken. We are planning to go across to Estepona on Wednesday morning for some window sales shopping, I will get my hair cut at the my Barbers, Manuel, and will check on the expensive repair to our carriage clock at the jewellers before going up to the ‘Poligamo’ for Oil & Coolant  for the car from the Car Hypermarket, finally we are calling into see Ben ( IT systems ) in his shop to check out a set of earphones/mike ready for my studio broadcasting debut in the next few weeks – fingers crossed!

Last night down in ‘Duquesa Marina’ a dear old friend, John Jones, was mugged as he was using a cash machine and robbed, he didn’t have the chance to respond and was badly shaken up by the experience, he’s an ex-policeman from Llandudno and is a golfing buddy of Tim’s; I’ve just spoken to Tim over in Old Colwyn on the Skype video, the port is not policed and has no video surveillance unlike ‘Sotogrande Marina’ which has both including gated control and a private security firm on patrol, the port is noted for this type of attack by groups of ‘Eastern ‘ types of ‘nasty’ gangs and drug users,  its the reason we don’t go down there very often, we have been verbally abused in the past by local drunks and other friends have had the same experience as John! ( Big Brian – twice!!) as well as many others suffering the same fate. The local Police are just not up to the responsibility and plead under staffing, the new Councillors have promised to ‘attack’ the problem, but so far with no signs of any action! John, our thoughts go out to you and keep your chin up as you have lots of friends locally to support you. Watch this space.

We are having a late ‘Brunch/ Mixed Grill’ as we are our this evening collecting Mano & Anna up from the Airport over in Gibraltar, I’ve got Calves Liver, Steak, Pork Sausages, Smoked Bacon, Mushrooms, Tomato & Chorizo along with sautéed Potatoes and ‘Heinz’ Baked Beans and not forgetting the ‘Campo’ Fried Eggs! ( and HP Sauce!)

The 'Pirate Brunch Chef' is back!

And the final result!!

On the football front over in England Manchester City won 4-0 but Everton could only drew at Chelsea 3-3 after letting a two goal lead go, the final equalising Chelsea goal in the 98th minute was off-side! The Horse Racing was very exciting and is starting to show future winners for the ‘Cheltenham Festival’ which is only eight weeks away.

Last night after supper we watched over on Channel 4 the movie “ Fast & Furious 6 “ from 2013.We have not seen many of the ‘Fast & Furious franchise  but the car chases etc are un-believable to say the least, the ‘Mega’ cast of Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Sung Kang, Luke Evans, Gina Carano and John Ortiz are still the same. Paul Walker was killed in a un-related car crash in November 2013 just as he was starting to film “ Fast & Furious 7 “  Watch the film right up to the end of the credits as there is a surprise ending with a guest ‘Cameo’ appearance??!!

PS, A picture taken by a local, last night, of the lower part of 'Calle Iglesia'

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
