A CLEAR & CRISP THURSDAY IN SUNNY MANILVA;

WEDNESDAY 20th/ THURSDAY 21st  JANUARY 2016.

Overnight the heavy rains came, in fact they woke us up on Wednesday morning before the alarm clock went off, I was still not feeling 100% so we decided to stay in bed and not go across to Estepona, the ‘Night Nurse’ made me stay in bed for the day and I carried on with the cough mixture and powders! Tea & Biscuits and warm Chicken & Leek Soup at lunchtime also arrived!!

The forecast for Thursday onwards is dry with the skies clearing and getting a little warmer as each days passes up to Sunday, on Monday David & Jane arrive for three days so its fingers crossed that it keeps dry and sunny down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’

This morning ‘Reina’ arrived as usual for the day and we then all had a nice lazy lie in despite the knocking from the workmen on the site, its clear and dry and in the sunshine its warm, after breakfast Brenda shot along to the chemists for some tablets and also some local shopping in Antonio’s; Meanwhile back here I made a fresh batch of my famous ‘Tomato Salsa’

We are taking things very easy today as I’ m still not right, Brenda is pottering about as usual catching up with the chores and ‘Chispa’ is here playing around my feet as I’m typing the Blog; tomorrow morning ‘Scruffy’ is back with us for the day so we are going down to Sabinillas on Saturday ,morning for the weekly shopping.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Chicken Schnitzel’s’ with ‘Spaghetti Milanaise’ for a change, Brenda picked up the ‘Fillets of Local Chicken’ from the butchers while she was out, I use  fresh Breadcrumbs from the local Bakery and my Tomato Salsa is the base for the Milanaise sauce.

For the rest of day we will settle down on the couch in front of the TV, not in front of a warm fire, but with our little oil heater to keep us old pensioners warm! Please note Mr Ian Duncan Smith, the ‘Pensions Minister’ that stopped our ‘Winter Fuel Allowance’!!

NB, The bad news is that the Euro has fallen down again to its lowest in nearly two years due to the stock markets, worldwide, dropping down after the price of Oil crashed ??!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
