WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 7th/ MAY 2014.

This morning it was quiet in the street until the gas bottle delivery man came down after 10-00am! As we got up I checked the Skype video to see if Jack & Lyn were on-line as we have been trying to make contact for a couple of days – success- they answered straight away and we had a good long catch up and chat; they are leaving after this weekend on an adventure/trip around Australia in their car and caravan!

Jack has always wanted to go around the country on ‘Route 1’ anti-clockwise starting up the East coast, then across the top to Darwin and then come down the West coast to Perth and back to Melbourne eventually! It’s only 14,000 kms!! They did the same route around Australia a couple of year ago on a cruise liner – a bit different this time! They are going to keep in touch via the Skype video and I’ve asked them to post some pictures on Facebook so as I can transfer them to the Blog; watch this space – we wish them a safe journey and take care, watch out for the Kangaroos !

It looks like the weather has settled in for a long spell, yesterday I got all the fans out in the lounge, bedrooms and the office to be ready for when it really heats up, today its 26/27degs and up in Sevilla in ‘Feria – Fair’ week its reaching 33degs today!

Chispa came calling early this morning so Brenda took her for a short walk as she was going to the surgery for an appointment with our doctor,she was on holiday so she had to see the stand-in; she gave her a good check over and said the her chest was fine,I could have told her that! She has prescribed some tablets to help clear her throat and one at night to relive the coughing - fingers crossed that she's back to her old self ASAP!

Scruffy arrived at lunchtime but he's only staying with us for two days not three,he's getting picked up on Friday morning;he's under my 'Secretaries' chair in the office as I'am up-dating the Blog - its his favourite spot!

As went for our early evening walk with Scruffy to go along to the chemists to pick up Brenda's tablets we bumped into Dava,Debbie and their son Tom( The Golfer!) - they are over for a week staying at a friend's place in Puerto Banus - nice to see them as we have not seen them(all) for a while!

For tonight’s supper I’ am making a ‘Lamb Cutlet/Pork Sausage Casserole’ with some leftovers from the deep-freeze in with the last of the Braised Steak – Baby Brussels Sprouts/Diamond cut Green Beans and  'Potato Cakes' - comfort food to die for!

On our large screen TV yesterday we have lost nine channels due to the government cut/backs and some political maneuvering; this means that we have now not got a lot of the film channels that we have been watching, it was in the newspapers and the television news a few week before the switch off as well as shown on the screens of the various channels! I’ am going to get our local TV engineer to come and re-tune the super TV as it’s rather complicated!

Last night the film was “A History of Violence ” from 2005 with Viggo Mortensen,Maria Bello,Ed Harris and a 8 minute appearance from William Hurt that won him lots of awards as ‘Best Supporting Actor’ Watch it to find out what its all about!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
