WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 25th/ MAY 2014.

Scruffy arrived at 6-45am for the day as Adrian and Rosie are working all day in Gibraltar, by prior arrangement! He then went upstairs back to bed as I did!!

After breakfast we set to and got the Sunday roast on the go, our first for a little while; “Roast Lemon Chicken”with a savory Mixed Herb Stuffing, from the vegetable assistant Chef we are having Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese Sauce, crushed Carrots & Baby Turnips, Baby Brussels Sprouts tossed with Smoked Bacon Sippits, Garden Peas, Saffron New Potatoes and of course my now very famous Goose Fat Roast Potatoes along with a rich finger-licking pan Gravy! To start it’s the now very popular Russian Salad and for our dessert we are having everybody’s favorite “Crepes” – I’ve just made the batter! See the pictures above of the Chicken as it came out of the oven and the vegetable chef’s work! Gillian and Lillemor are joining us for supper this evening.

At lunchtime we went for a short walk with both the dogs.

Last night we had a lovely meal at the “SI Siam” Thai restaurant over in Guadiaro after we found it, we where outside the wrong church in the wrong part of the town, we realized this when the Hymns were in English and the vicar started his sermon in English! We where in ‘Pueblo de la Guadiaro’ instead of ‘Guadiaro’ – Gillian’s nephew Guy came and found us in his supercar, a Black Audi monster that looks like a Ferrari Testarossa!( Audi R8 GT V10 Coupe )The little Red Fiesta just about kept up with it!!

We then met guy’s partner ‘Mod’ and her business partner ‘Best’ – see the pictures above of the restaurant; we had some nice drinks to start made with ‘Bombay Sapphire’ and Bacardi for a change! To start we had the house special ‘Mixed Thai Starter Platter’ with seven different things to taste, then Brenda had the Crispy Duck in a mild Red Curry Sauce, Lillemor had the same Duck but with a Sweet & Sour Sauce on the side, Gillian had King Prawns in a Mixed Fruit Sauce and I had very hot Thai Green Curry with King Prawns, Egg Fried Rice and a rather special House Noodle dish made with a Julienne of Vegetables and Prawns! I had chosen a very nice bottle of ‘Albarino’ from the Galicia region of Northern Spain which was perfect to go with our Banquet. At the end of the meal we had on the house a very nice Dessert Platter with a selection of all their sweets before the coffee’s arrived!

A ‘Big Thank you’ to Gillian for a memorable night out.

On the way home we stopped in the village and found out the score of the big game form some local lads, later we watched the highlights of the match, Real Madrid were very lucky as the were 0-1 down until the 93rd minute, when we got back up to the village the locals were dancing in the fountain at the entrance roundabout, the car horns went on all night! At the moment the ‘Monaco Grand Prix’ is on with Rosberg leading from Hamilton after his controversial qualifying move to take the pole position from his teammate yesterday!! This was also the final result !!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
