A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

TUESDAY 27th/ AUGUST 2019.

I was up very early this morning to welcome back little ‘ Miss Bella’ for the day, she shot upstairs and joined us on the bed for a little lie in, on Thursday  ‘ Scruffy’ is back with us for a sleep-over on Thursday, we then freshened up before breakfast, I had my usual, now, ‘Weetabix’ with sliced Banana ( cold milk) . Brenda had her usual, Brown toast, with mugs of hot tea.

Yesterday morning while we were getting ready I was, as usual, listening to the ‘Andrew Charles Breakfast Show’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW” as the ‘Music Quiz’ came on, for the first time this week, a three second flash, I got it straight away, it was ‘ Val Doonican’ with “ O’Rafferty’s Motor Car “ !!  I’m in the draw on Friday morning, again!

The sun was out early this morning and the sky has cleared, as there is a stiff breeze blowing, which has also moved, the much needed, ‘ wet-stuff’ away from us, up in Madrid they have had severe flash-flooding, it’s now looking dry & settled, with patchy clouds, for the rest of the week and over the ‘ Vendemia Wine Festival ‘ weekend. By this afternoon it’s due to reach 28 degs+ - the overall temperatures are hovering at around 27 degs and staying the same for the start of next week, only down to 20/21 degs during the night. Watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are treating ourselves to a full supper for a change ‘Grilled Gammon Steaks ‘ – topped with seared Pineapple Rings and a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg! Served with Garden Peas and of course triple-cooked ‘ Chips’! Tomorrow evening is still TBC and on Thursday we have given the staff the night off. I’m possibly going to make a “ Beef & Vegetable Stew “ – which will become “ Lob Scouse’ with the addition of diced/boiled Potatoes – to have over the ‘ Vendemia’ weekend, watch this space.

Last night after supper we settled down to watch, first, the final ever episode of “ Poldark “ – then the second, very gripping and brutal episode of the classic “ Peaky Blinders “ ( see tomorrows Blog)

Captain Ross Poldark was back in fine form as he stopped the French invasion, after double-crossing the ‘Frenchies’ - as an undercover agent - again! The French ‘General’ who arrived in advance, was shot & killed after a sword fight with Ross,  as well as one of the two ‘baddies’ only injured, – who later were arrested in their nightgowns, to be hung, drawn & quartered later! Demelza was all mixed up and left with the children for a while, her young brother’s wife had a baby girl, the other ‘ Preacher ‘ brother also got married at the end.

Meanwhile the noble Doctor helped Ross to overthrow the plotters by hiding in a cellar to right down all the details of the plot! His wife, the ‘posh’ one with money, who always carries her ‘Pug’ dog in her arms, after loosing a baby daughter, finally opened her arms to him ( another baby just around the corner!) ‘Nasty’ George also helped his ‘arch’ enemy ‘Ross’ by shooting the General, as he arrived in time! Then ‘shot’ off to London, forever!

Finally Ross & Demelza came back together, after she forgave him for all his adventures, she also is now expecting a baby! They then parted on the cliff tops as Ross went off, back to France, to spy for the Government, as well as his friend the noble Doctor! Ross’s final words were “ I swear to you, my love, I will return “ – in time for the harvest and the birth of their baby?!

We are now suffering from ‘ Poldark’ withdrawal symptoms!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
