A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 25th/ AUGUST 2019.

We had a nice lie in this morning after a slightly cooler night, ‘Sunny’ spent the night fast asleep on the marble floor next to our bed, we then freshened up before Brenda took him for his first walk of the day, around the bottom of the village, before it got too hot.

For our breakfast we had ‘Weetabix’ with sliced Banana, in cold milk, Brown toast for Brenda, with mugs of strong /hot tea, before getting the day on the go, I then shot upstairs to the office/studio to go on the ‘WWW’ and then type/post today’s Blog.

This morning the sun broke through a little earlier, there is still a light breeze blowing, so there are a few patchy clouds hanging around for now, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 27 degs+ - tomorrow on all the forecasts it’s now showing ‘ RAIN’ – a front is coming down from North West Spain, where they have had severe ‘ Rain- Storms ‘ but still with the overall temperature’s in the high 20s, the rest of next week is looking dry & settled, as the breeze drops, keeping it warm & sunny mostly, hovering in the high 20s, with still patchy clouds at times, still overnight hovering at around 20/21 degs, all over the ‘ Vendemia Wine Festival ‘ weekend, watch this space.

One bit of sad news we heard the other day, from a ‘Source’ – after the ‘ Vendemia Wine Festival’ finishes and the Council ‘ Cherry-Picker’ is taking down all the decorations along ‘ Call Mar’ – they are also going to cut-down, at the same time, the coloured Canopy?!  I have not caught up with Mario, the Mayor, our neighbour to confirm this, Watch this space.

While I’m typing/posting today’s Blog I’m listening to the ‘Pete Black Retro Roadshow’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW” waiting for this week’s ‘Film Quiz’ to come on, watch this space.

PS; I got the ' Movie Quiz' straight away, it was " Dirty Harry " from 1971, with Clint Eastwood in the title role, the year we were married in 'Port Sunlight'! - so we are in this months draw, later in the programme, for the Mug!! Watch this space.

Over in Liverpool yesterday, on a beautiful sunny day, the small cruise liner the “ Astor “  ( 650 persons only ) was berthed at the Pier Head.

Just a quick update on the yesterday’s sports results; Liverpool totally outclassed Arsenal and won 3-1, Real Madrid could only manage a 1-1 draw at home, after giving away a late goal, in the final minute of the game, meanwhile at Twickenham England beat Ireland 57-15 as they run riot and scored eight tries!

Today’s ‘ Stage 2 of the ‘ Vuelta d’EspaƱa 19’ is a hilly stage, over 199 kms, from Benidorm to Calpe, see below all the details of this year’s ‘Tour’ and today’s Stage 2.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Poached Chicken Breast ‘ – Brenda poaches the breasts in a savour Chicken broth, this morning, they are left in it to cool, then this evening I slice them, cold, to have a with a nice selection of ‘Mixed’ salads and for a treat some triple-cooked ‘ Frits’ – accompanied with ‘Hellmann’s Mayonnaise’!

After supper we will settle down to watch the next to last, ever, episode of “ Poldark “ – the final one is tomorrow evening, then following both of these episodes, it’s the return on the classic “ Peaky Blinders’ as the dysfunctional family take on the World during the 20s depression.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
