A VERY, VERY HOT & CLOSE SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 10th AUGUST 2019.

We all had a nice long lie in this morning, after another very uncomfortable night’s sleep( lack off) - as usual on a Saturday the village is quieter than normal, epically no church bells, calling the faithful to mass, as well as no traffic down our street,  no deliveries, no children out playing and all the neighbours staying inside, after freshening up Brenda took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, he slept all night under our bed on the marble floor, he’s into our routine and is such a good little ‘chap’ to look after, he’s got a very good appetite & loves going out with us, when we go along to ‘ Bar Castillo’ – he goes under the table, with his drink of cold water, and is very content & relaxed.

For our breakfast Brenda was on duty so we had her famous ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast- Boiled for her, ( see below) with Brown Toast Fingers – with mugs of hot Tea, she is then washing/shampooing her hair and I have shot up to the office/studio to go on the ‘WWW’ and then type/post today’s Blog.

Yesterday evening when we were out there was a very pleasant breeze (Poinente) blowing down from the mountains behind the village, overnight it dropped and this morning it’s very calm, close & hot, overnight it was one of the hottest nights of the year so far, the sun broke through earlier and the sky is blue with a few patchy clouds hanging around, by lunchtime it will reach 36 degs+ inland up to 39 degs+ - the whole area is on ‘Yellow & Red ‘ ( Orange !) alert, tomorrow a little cooler, as well as on Monday, then for the rest of next week it’s dropping to the high 20s, as the breeze picks up, staying like that over next weekend, watch this space.

Over in Liverpool yesterday another new arrival, of the cruise liner " Viking Sun' . berthed at the Pier Head' in front of the ' new' skyline!

On the sports front this weekend; It’s the start of the ‘ Premier League’ over in the UK, last night Liverpool won 4 -1 but their goalkeeper was injured and the defence didn’t look good, today Manchester City, kick-off at West Ham & Everton are at Crystal Palace.

Tomorrow there is a – World Cup ‘warm-up’ Rugby Union game at Twickenham as England welcome Wales.

For our supper this evening we are keeping it very simple, Cold, sliced Smoked & Ham & Tortilla, with a little salad and Baked Potato, on Sunday we are going to pick up a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the ‘ Rotisserie ‘ in Calle Mar, to have with a nice Mixed Salad & Parsley New Potatoes.

It’s one of those days when we must keep very relaxed and as cool as possible, drinking lots of cold water, with all the fans on, cool, minimal clothing, staying inside and when out, in the shade, positive thinking at all times!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
