A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 4th/ AUGUST 2019.

We managed another nice long lie in after a very hot night and the music not finishing until 3.30am! After freshening up we had our light breakfast of fresh fruit, toast and tea, Brenda had taken ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day earlier, before breakfast, each morning I’m now into my routine of taking my ‘ Blood/Glucose’ reading and then my ‘ Insulin’ injection, as well as Brenda’s ‘Blood Pressure’ reading when she want’s it! – not forgetting our regular prescription tablets!!

 “ We Will Survive “

The sun was out early this morning and the sky is bright blue, with no clouds, there is just a slight breeze, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 33 degs+ - next week is starting the same, very hot & sunny, on Wednesday up to 35 degs+  - continuing in the low 30s up to and over next weekend – a ‘ SCORTCHER’ –to say the least! The following week is now looking a little cooler as the breeze gets up, with a few patchy clouds around, still hovering in the high 20s/low 30s! Watch this space.

On the sports front today it’s all happening; The ‘ Hungarian Grand Prix’ later has Verstappen on his first pole, with Lewis Hamilton only third, the ‘Ashes’ Test Match at Edgbaston is finely poised, it’s  the Final Round of the ‘Women’s British Open Golf’ at the Woburn Golf Club, with a Japanese lady in the lead, the golf yesterday was excellent, the Cycling yesterday was the ‘Women’s RideLondon Classique ‘ as the winner was disqualified for causing a horrific crash, just before the line,   this afternoon, at Wembley it’s the “ Community Charity Shield “ as Liverpool play Manchester City.

While have been typing/posting today’s Blog I have been listening to the ‘Pete Black Retro Roadshow’ on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ as the Film Quiz came on, I got it straight away, it was the 1950 film, “ Sunset Boulevard “ with William Holden & Gloria Swanson – so we are the draw for this month’s ‘ Mug’! – Again!!

Over in Liverpool, well actually Birkenhead, the ‘ RRS Sir David Attenborough’ was berthed at the ship yard for repairs! See below.

Last night we went along to ‘ Bar Castillo’ and found a good table to watch all the festivities taken place for the ‘ Noche Del Embrujo’- we had our normal cool drinks, sat in the shade, with just a little evening air, for our ‘Tapas’ supper we had  Paqui’s excellent ‘Carne Mechada ‘ cured Pork slices & ‘Montaditos of Pork’ – a warm small baguette with a slice of Pork a la Plancha! Sat next to us were four local English friends, and later all the ‘Council ‘ members, as the three stages came into action, with the acts, including a local Lady, Emili, on her birthday singing local songs from Manilva, on the ‘ Bongo’ drum our neighbour Jose, and a local guitarist, as all the street lights came on as the sun went down, in a very busy ‘Calle Mar’

Today we are taking things very easy, basically doing nothing, after all the excitement of last night, for our supper we are having sliced ‘Poached Chicken Breast’ – cold, with a selection of Mixed Salads and a few Parsley Potatoes, later we will be watching the next episode of “ Poldark ‘ as he sorts out Cornwall,  back in the early 1880s!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
