A VERY CRISP SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY THE 13TH - AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 13th/ JANUARY 2017 !

I was up early this morning and after seeing ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I was the first customer into ‘ Mercadona’ – after the main shop I called into the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers before going along the promenade to the market, at the far end, for some fresh flowers & a wall plant, on the way back I stopped at ‘ Super Sol’ for the English essentials before shooting back up the hill to the village, after unpacking we took ‘ Scruffy’ out for his first walk of the day.

Rose rang us last night with a update on Adrian, he's back in the ' ICU' under observation this time, he was a little better and could be moved back into 'Cardio/Heart ward later today.

The ‘ Spanish Dyno-Rod ‘ people have just arrived to check/unblock the main drains, after our maintenance man called in last night, hopefully they will sort the blockage out, fingers crossed that it’s not a broken drain pipe, watch this space.

Well the good news is that it's fixed, the 'BAD' news is that here is now a hole in the downstairs toilet floor as they had to break into the joint drain pipes to remove the blockage, Brenda is now on mop duty and the smell is reaching up to ' Calle Mar'!! The hole will have to be filled in and the floor retiled as well as the toilet system re-fixed, watch this space.

PS; Our maintenance man came back and has just filled in the floor with tiles & sealant, as a temporary measure, it was just in time as we were being invaded by ' Cockroaches '!! The toilet system is also re-fixed and now working perfectly-

This morning the tail end of the ‘ Atlantic’ front has hit us, the sun is out and the sky is clear but we have a very stiff breeze making it rather brisk & crisp, over the weekend and into next week it’s more of the same, the temperature has dropped to 15/16 degs for now, watch this space.

See below a picture of Colwyn Bay promenade this morning! ( For the ' Moffatt's'!!)

I’m making my famous ‘ Seafood Risotto’ this evening for our supper, tomorrow night I have a very large ‘Entrecote Steak ‘ for our supper which I will grill on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare ‘ – then leave to rest before slicing it ‘ French’ style, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms, finely sliced Green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ On Sunday evening I’m going to make my classic version of ‘ Lancashire Hotpot ‘ using ‘Spanish & New Zealand’ Lamb cutlets/chops.

Last night after supper we watched the second episode of the police crime drama series ‘ Unforgotten ‘ with Nicola Walker & Sanjeev Bhaskar in the main roles as they try to find a killer from over 20 years previous, when a male body in a suitcase in the river is found, all the parts started to come together, the wife, who is a senior cop, her paranoid son, a Muslim lady teacher who was on the ‘game’- back then, a celebrated gay Barrister with a past and other unsavoury characters blackmailing him, watch this space?!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
