A BEAUTIFUL & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 14th/ JANUARY 2017.

We all had a little lie in this morning before taking ‘ Scruffy’ for his first walk of the day, we went down to our local sub-post office to report the missing mail envelope from the ‘ Junta de Andalucia’ – on the way back we called into our local ‘Fruit & Vegetable’ shop, owned by the Ex-Mayor, his wife looked after us, the vegetables, Cauliflower & Cabbage, are from his own ‘ Campo’ – all natural, no pesticides!

The news from Adrian this morning is that he’s feeling, I quote “ Fantastic, still alive and kicking “ He’s back in the ‘Cardio Ward’ and looking to be home for next week?! Watch this space.

Today the wind has dropped, the sky is bright blue and the sun was out early, it’s warm when you are on the sunny side of the street, a very pleasant day, again, here in sunny Manilva, tomorrow will be even nicer and next week is now looking fine & settled, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Entrecote Steak ‘ seasoned with Sea Salt & crushed Black Peppercorns, cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ and then left to rest, for the same time that it took to cook, then sliced into fingers ‘ French’ style & garnished with seared Shallots, Asparagus Spears & local Mushrooms,  with the classic ‘ ‘Bearnaise’ sauce on the side, finely sliced Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ On Sunday evening it’s going to be my version of the classic ‘Lancashire Hotpot ‘ served with local Cabbage with Acelgas and Pickled Red Cabbage!

Over here in ‘ La Liga ‘ Barcelona welcome Las Palmas and Real Madrid travel to Sevilla; in the ‘Premiere League’ tomorrow there are two ‘ Matches of the Day’ as Everton welcome Manchester City and Liverpool go up the ‘ East Lancashire Road’ to play Manchester Utd!!  This afternoon over on ‘ ITV4’ (?!) the National Hunt Racing is from Kempton Park & Warwick with the new, large, racing team commentating.

This evening we will channel hop and find something to watch, a good film later, if possible, the Spanish & English football highlights, the main news and weather forecasts, a couple of Quiz shows etc.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
