A CLEAR & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 12^th/ JANUARY 2016.

I was up earlier than normal to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she shot upstairs onto the bed and joined us for a lie in with ‘ Scruffy’ – we then went for a walk with him before breakfast, ‘Chispa’ also called in later to see her friends. I made ‘ Smoked Bacon Butties’ with mugs of steaming tea, we then got the shopping list ready for tomorrow morning.

The news on Adrian is not so good, he’s had another ‘Heart Attack’ while he was at the Hospital and also the fluid on his lungs has returned, he’s in the ‘Cardiac/Heart Ward’ and we are waiting to hear from Rose how is today. Watch this space.

We have a problem in the house, it looks like the main drains are blocked, again, this means that we can’t use the two toilets, all the sinks and the bathroom shower?! I called the maintenance people and we are waiting to hear from them, hopefully they will be along shortly, it’s a little worrying as we had the same problem a few months ago, it was the main drain blocked, we are concerned that it’s not a fault with the drain pipes/walls, as they are very old, watch this space!

Still no sign of Brenda’s new ‘ Green Health Card’ – we had post yesterday lunchtime delivered, both local & foreign, by our local postman, we are chasing him and the ‘ Junta de Andalucia’ – hopefully it’s not lost in the post, watch this space.

One bit of good news for today is that the sun was out early, the sky is bright blue, there are no clouds and the light breeze has dropped, it’s just another perfect day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – by lunchtime it’s due to reach nearly 19/20 degs, over the next few days and the weekend we are in for more of the same but a little cooler as the very tail end of the ‘Atlantic Storm’ front that is hitting Northern Europe & the UK reaches some parts of Northern Spain and so effects us down here in sunny Manilva! For our supper this evening we are having ‘Grilled Chicken Wings ‘ with whole Green Beans and the rest of the ‘Lyonniase’ Potatoes, tomorrow evening I’m going to make my famous ‘ Seafood Risotto’ with Cod, Hake, Salmon, Gambas & Prawns, Mussels etc, on Saturday its 'Grilled Entrecote Steak' with all the trimmings.

After supper last night we watched for a change ‘ Midsomer Murders ‘ with now Neil Dudgeon in the main role, in this episode the murderer turned out to be played by Susan Jameson, she was in ‘ New Tricks’ for many years and has been a ‘jobbing’ actress in all sorts of TV programmes, we first met her back in 1972 when she was filming in North Wales and stayed at the ‘ Royal Goat Hotel’ in Beddgelert, where we were the Managers.We also had the crew for ‘ Volkswagen Cars’ making a commercial showing that the ‘ Volkswagen Beetle’ could float on water! Not a lot of people know that- they do now!
