A EVEN COLDER SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 20th/ JANUARY 2017.

We were both up early this morning, I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping and Brenda welcomed ‘Reina’ back with us for the last day this week, she’s back next week for her regular five days, she shot into her Duvet, see the picture below of her getting up this morning, back at home, she doesn’t look very happy?!

I did the main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ before popping along to the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the weekly newspapers, the TV Times( with local times!)  and two cards, one birthday and one engagement!! I then shot along the promenade to the local Market for the fresh flowers and two wall plants, finally I called into ‘ Super Sol’ for the English essentials.

The ‘ Engagement’ card is for Matt & Michelle as yesterday they announced on ‘Facebook’ that after 11 years they are getting married on the 8th May!!   “ Great News & Congratulations “

This morning it’s very cold, to say the least, there is no breeze and the sun is out, the sky is cloudy and blue, the ‘Mediterranean’ is sparkling, you need to wrap up well, it’s the coldest it’s been down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ for over a decade, the overnight temperatures are down to 5/6degs and during the day it’s reaching 15/16degs, we can’t complain as the rest of Spain is below freezing point with heavy snow! Over the weekend it’s staying the same, now, then next week it’s due to pick up and get a little warmer, watch this space.

See below the promenade down in Sabinillas this morning.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet ‘ using local breadcrumbs, with Mushy Peas and twice-cooked diced ‘ Frits’ and of course homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce. Tomorrow night, at the request of Brenda, it’s going to be the classic ‘ Steak Diane ‘ using ‘ French ‘ trimmed Entrecote Steaks, Sunday is still TBC.

Just a memory from the past, I went to the all-day concert back in 1963, happy memories of all the groups!

Yesterday evening after supper we settled down to watch the next episode of the ‘ Unforgotten ‘ on ITV, the murdered victim was abused at school, the Detective wife of the victim is starting to show signs of cracking, the ‘Gay’ Barrister, with a past, confesses to a mental breakdown, and also showed a nasty side to his blackmailer, the suspect Nurse has a background of a political/IRA activities, finally the Muslim school teacher is loosing the plot and confesses to her husband that she was a sex worker, meanwhile the two main Detectives have personal family problems of their own to contend with! Are you following so far??

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
