A VERY WET SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 3rd / DECEMBER 2016.

We had a good long lie in the morning as the village is very still & quiet; for our breakfast I had ‘Fried Eggs & Smoked Bacon’ - Brenda had an open ‘Smoked Bacon Butty’ with mugs of steaming ‘PG’ Tips tea and for me buttered toast!  ‘Scruffy’ is being dropped off this afternoon for a sleep over, otherwise we are taking things very easy, nothing to do and just relaxing.

Yesterday evening the rain started again and has not stopped all night, this morning it’s grey & overcast and raining, the forecast for later is for rain storms, our area is on ‘ Yellow’ alert & Malaga is on ‘ Orange’ alert! Tomorrow it’s more of the same and on Monday it could get even worse as yet another ‘ Atlantic’ front comes in, the only relief is that the temperatures are hovering on the 18/19 mark, during the day, ‘ Hot Rain’!!

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Entrecote Steak’ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ and then left to ‘rest’ before slicing it ‘ French’ style into fingers, a classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce on the side with seared Button Mushrooms & Asparagus Spears, whole Green Beans & the classic ‘ Pont Neuf’ door-step chips, twice –cooked.

On Sunday we are ‘Roasting’ – ‘ Loin of Pork ‘ with a savoury ‘Mixed Herb & Onion’ Stuffing and of course ‘ Finger Licking’ pan Gravy; a selection of local vegetables and ‘ Duck Fat’ Roast Potatoes! Cold Roast Pork and a ‘ fry-up’ on Monday!

On the sports front this weekend; over in the ‘ Premiere League’ today Manchester City welcome Chelsea in the ‘ Match of the Day’ and then tomorrow Liverpool travel all the way down to Bournemouth and Everton welcome Manchester Utd. Over here in ‘ La Liga’ it’s ‘ El Clasico’ as Barcelona welcome Real Madrid. Meanwhile at Twickenham in the ‘International Rugby Union’ England are chasing a record-equalling 14th straight win as they play Australia. This afternoon we will be watching, also, the Jump Racing from Aintree & Sandown Park on Channel 4.

Just a quick update on the wet weather, the leaks in the bathroom and the wall of the office/studio are still happening, it looks like we have a major problem with wall, the towels are down and we are ready for the threatening storms; another technical problem is that my rain boots are leaking, they have given up the ‘ghost’ after over ten years, I’m digging out another pair for my ‘ Doggy Walking’ duties later!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
