A CRISP & DRY SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 8th / DECEMBER 2016.

                                                                    “ DIA DE IMMACULADA CONCEPCION “

I was up very early this morning to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, as Lee’s boss was flying in from Jersey to Gibraltar to see him for an all day meeting, she shot upstairs and went on our bed under the top blanket, ‘ Scruffy’ joined us also and we then all went to sleep for a nice lie in; when we got up we took ‘Scruffy’ for his first walk of the day, we went to the top of the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ behind the electricity sub- station to cut some Pine branches down for our Xmas decorations in the lounge, the only problem was that the Council had trimmed them, we had to jump up and then cut the ones we wanted!

It’s dry and a little overcast with clouds, there is stiff ‘ Lavante’ breeze blowing making its ‘ crisp’ - the rest of the week and over the weekend is looking dry with a little sun braking through, even getting a little warmer at times, next week we will have to wait and see what’s in store for us, watch this space.

After our regular breakfast I shot along to the local bank in ‘Calle Mar’ for some cash from the machine, I also ordered a Roast Chicken from the ‘Rotesserie’ for Sunday, the village is very quiet again today as its one of the main religious bank holidays ‘ Immaculate Conception’

Yesterday when I called into our local butchers for some Chicken Wings for this evenings supper he had just sold the last of them to our neighbour, so instead I bought some of his excellent marinated diced Pork, I’m going to prepare ‘ Brochettes’ later with Mushrooms, Onions & Shallots and Peppers, for a change we are going to have  them with ‘ Chips’ and finely sliced Green Beans with a sauceboat of Tomato salsa; next week I will be making another batch of the salsa and then my famous ‘ Minestrone Soup’

As I’m typing & posting the Blog the first of the local ‘ Parrandas’ Bands with all our neighbours playing & signing, has come down our street past our front door, they look very smart in their new uniforms, see the pictures above. This afternoon another ' Parrandas Band' came up our street this time, our neighbour Mario, the Mayor and his wife Anna are in this one!

All the washing has gone out up on the roof terrace/patio to dry, the shopping list is ready for tomorrows weekly trip down to Sabinillas, as the band was passing ‘ Chispa’ came in to see her friends, we are taking things easy for the rest of the day.

PS; UPDATE ON ADRIAN.

Iv'e just spoken to Rose's neighbours, Caroline & Ian, who are looking after her and taking her back & forth to the hospital; Adrian is 'stable' and on a ventilator in the ' ICU' - they are trying to take him off it so as they can give him a ' Angiogram' as they suspect heart valve damage etc, he then will need an operation possibly at the specialist ' Heart Hospital' in Malaga, its one of the best in the country with 'World' famous surgeons, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
