A VERY CRISP & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 28th/ DECEMBER 2016.

We were up early this morning to welcome back ‘ Reina’ for the day , she’s here for three days this week, I then took ‘ Charlie’ out for his first walk of the day, last night he came up to bed with us, for a change, and slept on the bed and on the floor,’ Chispa’ has also called in for her breakfast with them both.

Just as we were sorting ourselves out the ‘ Skype’ video came online, it was Jack & Lyn from a very hot ( 37degs in the shade!) Melbourne, it’s the hottest summer in over 15 years, we have tried to get in touch with them, with no luck, they have been swamped with family visitors over the ‘Xmas’ celebrations, just before ‘Xmas Day’ Jack needed to go onto a Oxygen Breathing system, it had not been delivered but in the end after a lot of chasing it finally arrived and he’s now on it 24/7 – he feels a lot better, they are both in good spirits, we had a good catch up with all their news, we have made a ‘ New Years ‘ wish – ‘ To get Norah & Jenny online on the ‘ Skype’ video, they both now have it installed, Norah’s Vicar has just done it for her! ‘ Come on ‘girls’ you know you can do it!?  Watch this space!!

Brenda has gone off to the surgery for her appointment with a Doctor, our Doctor, Natalia, is away on holiday for a week, at the same time she’s chasing up her missing ‘Green Health Card’ (?!)  and giving in the form for a new one, Mano helped us fill it in yesterday, she will also ask for some prescriptions, so as she can go the local chemists for her tablets, watch this space.

It’s a little grey & overcast this morning, no sign of any of the wet stuff, for now, the sun is due to break through later and the rest of the week and over the ‘ New Year ‘ weekend it’s more of the same, getting a little sunnier, watch this space.

While Mano was here he rang Pedro ‘Senior’ at the garage and told him about the car, it had just been dropped off by the breakdown people form Estepona, he asked him to check what was wrong , let us know the cost and we would then decide what to do ie; put the car in for part exchange or go ahead with the repair, Pedro rang back later to confirm that the gear box was knackered, he could order a new one ( 2/3 days) and the cost was surprisingly less than we expected! So we said go ahead, fingers crossed that we will have it back for the start of next week, watch this space.

I’ve just spoken to Michelle down at their apartment, they are coming up tomorrow afternoon, I will then drop them back down so as I have the  hire car for my Friday morning shopping, I will then drop it back off and she will bring me back up to the village. They are joining us  for Sunday lunch on ‘ New Years Day ‘ – ‘ Roast Leg of New Zealand ( South Island ) Lamb ‘ with ‘ Boulangere Potatoes ‘ etc.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Cold Roast Turkey ‘ with twice-cooked ‘ Chips ‘ – then on Thursday it’s going to be the rest of the ‘ Cold Roast Beef ‘ with a Mixed Salad & Baked Potato. Friday is ‘ Fish Night’ and then on Saturday, ‘ New Years Eve ‘ we are having ‘ Grilled Entrecote Steak on the Bone ‘ with all the trimmings!

We are taking things easy for the rest of the day, we will channel hop later, the ‘ Christmas TV ‘ has not been very exciting, to say the least, finally ‘ Liverpool won 4-1 and are second in the ‘ Premiere League ‘ – they welcome Manchester City on ‘ New Years Eve!’

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
