A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 11th/ MAY 2015.

The workmen arrived on time at the development this morning and commenced to knock down the wood shuttering from around the new concrete, with great gusto and as much noise as possible! Thankfully we were going to get up anyway as we have planned to go across to Estepona to order our new 4xRing Gas Hob & Extractor for the small back kitchen from ‘Furniture World’ up in the Poligamo (Industrial Estate)

After a quick breakfast we shot out and picked the car up from the underground car park after calling into our local post office to post a birthday & graduation card?! The view across to the mountains and down to the sparking Mediterranean was spectacular, its going to be another hot one today with the forecast up to 30 degs here and in inland up in Sevilla,Cordoba,Granada & Jaen it reaching 36/37 degs – the hottest May on record! The sky is blue and we have a little cooling sea breeze to make it even more pleasant – the week is staying the same.

We have ordered the Hob & Extractor and they are being delivered (Free) on Wednesday; by normal Spanish standards we are very impressed, fingers crossed that they fit in, we have done all the measurements with the tape measure!See the Mobile phone pictures below;

So on the menu’s for the week we are having this evening ‘Sextons Big Whopper’ made with fresh homemade burgers from our butcher, Brenda is having ‘Cheese’ with all the works and I’m having my special ‘Campo Egg & Smoked Bacon Double De-Lux’ with all the trimmings!! Twice-cooked ‘Frits’ served in paper cones and ‘Heinz’ Tomato Ketchup on the side.See the pictures above;

Tomorrow night it’s going to be Calves Liver with sausages, then on Wednesday a ‘ Chicken & Tarragon Casserole’ Thursday is find something in the fridge day and on Friday Hake Fillets, Saturday is ‘Steak Night’ and Sunday is TBC.

We are shopping on Friday as normal and ‘Reina’ is back with us on Tuesday & Thursday, we are waiting to hear from our friends from North Wales, Douglas & Lyn to plan to meet up with them; they arrived yesterday at Malaga Airport and are now settled into their villa with their friends Pedro & Ann up in ‘Iznajar’ which is small ‘White’ village in the hills between Cordoba and Granada.

As it happens yesterday on the Andalusia TV station ‘Canal Sur’ the regular programme “ Este Es Mi Pueblo ” – This Is My Village – featured ‘ Iznajar’so we found out all about the area around the lake and that the village its famous especially for it’s ‘Urban Knitting’ as all the villagers,male,female, old & young take part in ‘decorating’ the walls, seats & streets in the very pretty village! See the pictures below of the village and the view from where the folks are staying.

On the sports front Manchester City beat QPR 6-0 and relegated them at the same time, Chelsea drew with Liverpool 1-1 and Rosberg won the ‘Spanish Grand Prix’ up in Barcelona with Hamilton second after a bad start but the result of the day was at the ‘Madrid Open Tennis’ tournament when Andy Murray easily beat Rafa Nadel on clay for the first time 6-3 6-2!!

At the moment ‘Chispa’ is here and is playing around the house as normal; we are having a nice easy day at home and will go up on the roof terrace after the workmen finish for the day for our ‘Happy Hour’ cocktails with a little reading and listening to the local music radio station.

This evening after supper we will catch up with all the news, sport & weather detail before settling down to find something to watch.

Thought for the Day ; See above.
