A OVERCAST & LITTLE DAMP SUNNY MANILVA ON 'ELECTION' SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 24th/ MAY 2015.      “ELECTION SUNDAY”

We had a surprise lie in this morning as ‘Charlie’ took one look at the weather and stayed on the bed with us! Its’ grey & overcast with a little light drizzle, as forecast, for sometime this weekend, although it’s still warm and so rather agreeable!

When we came back from our walk there was nice treat waiting for us ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’with a mug of steaming tea, after we had both dried off on the towel ‘Charlie’ - dries himself by rolling and tossing the towel, he’s very clever!  See the picture below of  ‘Charlie’ patiently waiting for his breakfast!

Last night after supper we settled down and watched the 60th “Eurovision Song Contest” from Vienna, we miss Graham Norton’s comments, the regular Spanish commentator is a little hard to follow! We channel hopped during the show and then watched the results; our favorite part is guessing who the votes are going too from a particular country!

Over here yesterday it was the final games in ‘La Liga’ as Barcelona drew 2-2 & Real Madrid won 7-3 with yet another Ronaldo ( Big Head!) hat-trick, today it’s the final day over in the ‘Premiere League’ Over in a very wet Giro d’Italia Alberto Contador took a large lead in the long Time Trial and now has the leaders ‘Pink’ Jersey going into today’s mountain stage.

Meanwhile over in the UK on the ‘Whit Bank Holiday Weekend’ in a rather sunny Llandudno they had a spectacular “Air Show” as the Bay between the Great Orme & Little Orme is just the right setting. See the picture of the famous ‘Red Arrows’ taken by our friend Julie Fallon ( sorry about the man’s head!

                                                                            Spot the odd one out !

At lunchtime we are going down to the ‘Pabellon – Congress Centre’ by the sports complex to vote, no ‘X’ in the box here, after registering, you just select the voting paper for the party that you support, pop it in a envelope and drop it in the box!  There are 17 seats available under the ‘Proportional Representational’ system in Spain, the number of seats in the local election is governed by the number of registered voters for each town, at the same time it’s also the ‘National Elections’ in Spain, which we can’t vote in, in each of the Automous Governed ‘Regions’ City’s, Town’s & villages with the same system!! Are you paying attention?! Watch this space for the local result.

The week ahead is very busy here in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ – ‘Charlie’ s here on his holiday’s until Saturday morning ‘Reina’ is with us on Tuesday & Thursday as normal and then is back for short weekend break from Friday to Monday and ‘Scruffy’ is coming on Thursday for a two-day sleep over!

This means that we will have the three dogs with us on Friday night which could be rather interesting to say the least!!! And of course ‘Chispa’ will be here all the time with all here friends. Also early next Saturday morning I’m dropping our Swedish friend,Lillemor, off at the bus station in Marbella to catch her flight home to Gothenburg leaving Brenda in charge of the ‘Mad House’!

This evening for our supper we are having sliced ‘Cold Boiled Ham’ that I boiled yesterday with a Mixed Salad & some Baby New Potatoes in their skins. We will then catch up with all the news, sport and weather details.See below - click on the second one!

PS; I'm making a large bowl of my famous 'Ensaldilla Rusa - Russian Salad' as Brenda has got all the ingredients ready earlier this morning.

                                                               They have started to arrive!
