A VERY WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 11th/ MARCH 2015.

The workmen arrived as usual early this morning but they started work on the far end of the house by the bathroom and kitchen so we had a little roll over lie in until the gas bottle delivery man decided to blow his horn!

Today's progress!

The sun is out, the sky is blue and there is no breeze, just another normal day here in sunny Manilva, the forecast for the rest of the week and over the weekend is for more of the same hovering on the 22/23 degs mark – very pleasant for this time of the year.

After breakfast I got tonight’s supper on the go “Chicken, Ham & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole”  I dust the diced Chicken Breast, Leg & Thigh in seasoned flour and cook off with out colour,at the same time I sweat off the diced Onions,Leeks,Celery,Carrots,Red & Green Peppers in a White wine reduction (sorry Brenda)!

Then I add some diced Smoked Bacon snippets and cubed cooked boiled Ham along with Baby Mushrooms, lots of Tarragon and seasonings to taste, the Chicken is added to the pot with a rich Chicken & Vegetable stock and left to cook in the able hands of the newly appointed Assistant Chef! I will adjust the seasoning and consistency this evening.

With the ‘Casserole of the Day’ we are having finely sliced Green Beans and Parsley New Potatoes.See below;

At the moment ‘Chispa’ is playing around the house waiting for ‘Scruffy’ to arrive just after noon, he’s with us until later this evening. We will go for a walk with them at lunchtime to check out what’s happening in the village. Watch this space,

At lunchtime we went for a nice walk along 'Calle Mar' to the bank and the back down to the 'Plaza de la Vandimia' and then down to the 'Mirador' in the very hot 'shirt sleeve' sunshine;the work has already started in 'Calle Iglasia' as you can see below;

Last night after supper we watched the ‘Champions League’ football as the German team ‘Schalke’ beat Real Madrid 3 – 4 but lost 5 – 4 on aggregate, Real Madrid were booed off the field at the end by the home fans as they played terrible and could have easily lost in the last few minutes if Casillas had not saved two certain goals!

PS; I'm watching the 'Cheltenham Festival' today on the large PC - I've managed to get a very good contact via 'Film On' to the 'Channel 4 coverage !

Thoughts for the Day; See above,
