A CLEAR & CRISP SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 6th/ MARCH 2015.

We were up with the workmen this morning and after a quick breakfast we shot down to Sabinillas for our weekly shopping; I called into the local branch of our bank as we have still not received the second refund after the banks cash machine crashed at the start of February! We then picked up the papers from the ‘English Bookshop’ which is looking better every time we call in, next it was our main shop at ‘Mercadona’ and then some English essentials from ‘Super Sol’ before we stopped at the flower market on the end of the promenade for some fresh flowers.

We came up through the back streets of the village to the house as Calle San Vicente is closed at the top by the Town Hall; the work is on-going and the house is gradually disappearing under a cloud of dust despite them watering it down! All the plants have been covered, we have now brought them inside, and all the balconies and shutters are covered in the stuff as well as all the walls of the house! For the first time we are praying for some rain to wash the house down in sunny Manilva!! See below 'Iglesia de Santa Ana' this afternoon;

Well our prayers were answered a lot sooner than we thought as the Council Water Wagon arrived at 5-30pm and washed down our street and at my request our house at the same time,I got them to finish the job by doing our neighbors houses as well and the side street by the development; the workmen will be back on Monday morning! See the pictures above of Calle San Vicente 1 looking a little cleaner!!

At lunchtime I’m meeting Rose outside the Town Hall to collect ‘Scruffy’ who is with us for the day, we will walk back the long way ‘Chispa’ is with us at the moment after we returned home. Next week ‘Reina’ is back here in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ as usual on Tuesday & Thursday and we are waiting to confirm when ‘Scruffy’ is with us.He's back on Wednesday for the day and evening.

While we were out the hospital over in Marbella called to change Brenda’s appointment on Monday for her heart ‘Ultra Sound Scan’ from in the evening to 2-45pm in the afternoon, which is a lot better.

For supper this evening we are having ‘Fillets of Hake Meuniere’ with some Baby New Potatoes and Garden Peas, simple but nice; then tomorrow evening after watching the ‘Carnival Parade’ along Calle Mar we are having ‘Entrecote Steak’ with all the trimmings. No roast on Sunday, as were spoilt last week, so we are having ‘Braised Lamb Shanks’ in Minted Gravy.

Brenda's with a little local fresh Asparagus! See above.

After supper we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather details, the weather today, as forecast is clear and sunny but still with a stiff breeze that is due to drop later, it will then be a lot warmer over the weekend and into the start of next week.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
