A WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 14th/MARCH 2015.

No lie in this morning as expected as the ‘B----y’! workmen arrived in force; they have not been here for the last two days?! The breeze has dropped and it starting to warm up for the weekend, next week is also starting to look fine and settled.The workmen packed up at lunchtime after plastering our wall with a strange colored Red Sand based covering?! See below'

For breakfast the ‘Breakfast Chef’ excelled herself with a nice surprise “ Egg Benedict & Poached Egg ” ( see below) along with a mug of steaming tea to start the day off in the right way! I’m now back up in the office, as you can see typing the Blog.

I’m going to watch later on the large PC for a change ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ before sorting out this evenings supper “ Entrecote Steak” cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘Med-Rare’ with Sautéed Baby Mushrooms & Shallots, we found some very nice looking ‘Mange Tout – Sugar Snap Peas’ at Iceland yesterday, so we are having them along with our now famous twice-cooked ‘Frits’ served in yesterdays ‘Daily Mail’ ( sorry Josie )!

                                                          Makes for good reading !

'Chispa' has just arrived and is playing around the house with the wind in her tail. At lunchtime we went for a nice walk in the warm sunshine with the dog and stopped at 'Bar Rojas' for a cool drink and a Tapas of Lumy's 'Albondigas'

" DOGGY WORLD HEAVEN" - UPDATE;

We have just had a phone call from Daniela asking us if we could have 'Reina' later this evening for a sleep over,so she's arriving later;she is then back with us on Tuesday & Thursday and 'Scruffy' is with us for a two day sleep over on next Saturday!

It’s a busy sports weekend; over in Australia in Melbourne, just around the corner from Jack & Lyn, it’s the start of the ‘Grand Prix’ season – Lewis Hamilton has just taken a stunning pole position! Meanwhile over in England at Twickerham it’s the ‘Six Nations Rugby Union’as England play Scotland; in the ‘Premiere League’ Manchester City travel just up the road to Burnley,on Sunday Everton welcome Newcastle and then on Monday Liverpool travel down to Swansea. Over here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona travel to lowly Eibar and tomorrow Real Madrid welcome Levante.

This afternoon I will watch the England v Scotland game and at the same time some racing on Channel 4 as its the ‘Midlands Grand National’ from Uttoxeter – the Grand National from Aintree is in four weeks time! Later on after our ‘Saturday Steak Night’ we will catch up with the news and all the sports high lights from around Europe on the excellent ‘Quatro’ channel before finding a film to watch

We spoke to our dear friend Joyce who is at her house in 'Alhaurin el Grande'painting, we are going to try and meet up next Wednesday for a spot of lunch and glass of something sparkling!

PS; We have just received in this mornings post a postcard from Josie who has been over in Donegal visiting her family - thanks - yours is in the post! Keep them coming !!.

Thought for the Day; See above.
