A OVERCAST AND DAMP SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY " ROASTING TODAY " !

SUNDAY 22nd/ MARCH 2015.

We started the day with a nice long lie in, all three of us, ‘Scruffy’ sleeps on the bed and then in his executive sleeping bed, overnight we have had more heavy rain and first thing this morning it was pelting down but then it stopped so I shot out with ‘Scruffy’ for his first walk of the day, with his raincoat on just in case, when we get back we both stand on the large bathmat to be dried!

The forecast has not changed for today and we have more of the wet stuff on Monday & Tuesday, so far, its overcast and threatening at the moment so we will shoot out when we see the right moment with both the dogs as ‘Chispa’ came calling earlier and is playing around the house with her mate.

After breakfast we got today’s roast on the go; ‘Roast Lemon Chicken’ with a savory Mixed Herb Stuffing and of course a rich ‘finger licking’ – ‘proper’ Gravy! The Vegetable Chef has prepared Florets of Cauliflower in a three Cheese sauce, crushed Carrots & Turnips, diamond cut Green Beans in a savory ‘Provencal’ style sauce and Garden Peas; tonight for a change we are having ‘Fondant’ Potatoes cooked in a rich Chicken & Vegetable stock then ‘ browned’ off with knob’s of Butter!

                                                               This evenings Vegetable section;

Yesterday afternoon I watched the three ‘Six Nations Rugby’ games one after the other on the large PC upstairs in the office via my ‘Film On’ channel which gives me excellent coverage of ‘BBC 1 TV’ – Its’ being described as one of the most exciting and gripping series of rugby games ever, you could not turn away for a minute, as first Wales and then Ireland took the overall lead in very high scoring ‘open’ rugby games ever.

Then England had the task of beating the French by 26 points to win the Championship, it turned into one ‘Helluva’ match in another high scoring win for England but not by enough points in the end! It left you breathless and drained in one of the most memorable days in Rugby!! Brenda kept me going with cups of tea and then our early ‘Happy Hours’ cocktails as I shouted myself dry during all the games – thanks!

Back today as we have the ‘Match of the Day’ over in England when Liverpool welcome Manchester Utd. and over here it’s the ‘Clasico’ when Barcelona welcome Real Madrid this evening.

This evening after supper we will catch up with all the news, sport high lights and next weeks weather details before finding a film to watch.
