A VERY CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 17th JANUARY 2014.

We had a little lie in this morning before ‘Charlie’s’ last ‘Dawn Chorus’ got us up, he’s being picked up by Andy later this morning, Andy & Maria had a very nice, but very cold, time over in the UK including a trip to York, from Derby, where they went to see the famous ‘Railway Museum’ – which makes me rather jealous as I never managed to get there! Yet!!

Meanwhile over here in sunny Manilva the ‘Queen’ has settled into her ‘Penthouse’ apartment over looking Africa and is already making arrangements to see her loyal local subjects starting with a visit to ‘Calle San Vicente 1’ for supper on Sunday evening.

After breakfast I went out to the butchers for tomorrow nights supper and on the way back called into the greengrocers for some essential ‘greens’ Today here in sunny Manilva its the most beautiful very crisp day with the most perfect blue sky, sadly the rest of Spain, over seventeen regions, is expecting severe snow storms today, the only place that is not is Andalusia! But tomorrow we will have some of the wet stuff! See the picture below of Sabinillas beach this morning!

I’m now upstairs in the office watching ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ on the small PC via my ‘Film On’ channel which allows me to follow BBC TV etc while at the same time I’m as you can see typing the Blog on the larger PC.

At the moment the prettiest ‘girl’ in the village ‘Chispa’ has just come calling and is playing around my feet!See the picture below taken by Brenda with her Mobile phone very quickly!

On the sports front, sorry Josie, over here in ‘La Liga’on Sunday Real Madrid travel to Getafe and Barcelona go to Deportivo De La Coruna, meanwhile in the ‘Premiere League’ today Liverpool go down the M6 to Aston Villa tomorrow and Manchester City welcome Arsenal on Sunday then Everton welcome West Brom on Monday.

This evening for supper we are having ‘Entrecote Steak’ cooked on a hot griddle plate ‘Med Rare’ with sautéed Baby Mushrooms, finely sliced Green Beans and as a ‘treat’ - requested by Brenda, twice-cooked ‘ Frits’!

After supper we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather report before finding a good film to watch.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
