A WET & WINDY AND OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 21st/ NOVEMBER 2019.

We had a nice, well needed, lie in this morning as yesterday evening Brenda had a nasty fall, at the bottom of our street, at the steepest part, outside our house it was dry, but in the shade further down it was wet, she lost her footing and slipped/fell backwards onto her thigh, elbow, wrist & head! Three local people came to her rescue, one jumping out of a car, she was badly shaken and in shock,, but thankfully nothing was broken!

Ice packs and cleaning the cuts on her elbow helped, she then took things very easy for the rest of the evening. This morning I insisted that she stay in bed, as she is stiff and aching all over, she took her normal tablets, I then popped along to our local Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ for some ‘Paracetamol’ and they also recommended an ‘Ointment’ for the bruising/pain.  ‘ Rest & Recuperation ‘ is on the ‘ menu’ for the rest of the day!  Watch this space.

After a quick freshen up I then made us some breakfast, as I was on the rota, a ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ for me – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with some of her favourite sliced Baby Mushrooms seared in the Bacon juices, with a knob of Butter, with mugs of hot/strong/sweet Tea, ‘ Feed’ an illness, as my Mother used to say!  Watch this space.

Yesterday the forecasted ‘RAIN’ didn’t hit us, overnight we had some light drizzle and this morning it’s grey & overcast with dark rain clouds above, at the moment we have a light drizzle, with a slight breeze, by lunchtime it’s going to get wetter, only reaching 15 degs+`- then tomorrow the wind is getting up and we are in for heavy ‘RAIN’ – with on Saturday the possibility of  more of the same.

Then from Sunday and all of next week, as the next ‘ Atlantic’ front comes in, the breeze is dropping right down, as the temperatures go back up, hovering on the 17/18 degs mark, by next weekend up to 20 degs+!  - overnight hovering on the 11/12 degs mark, with warm sunshine & partly cloudy at times, about normal for the time of the year, watch this space.

I’m going to go out on my travels on Saturday morning this week, for our weekly shopping, not Friday as normal, as hopefully the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ will not be so bad!

As I was walking along ‘ Calle Mar’ this morning there are some painters inside ‘ Bar Rojas ‘ – Lumy confirmed yesterday, when we were out for a cool drink at lunchtime, sat outside at ‘Bar Castillo’  that it’s due to reopen shortly as a ‘Pizzeria’ – this will now give three in the village, including the one two doors down from us ?! We could have a ‘Pizza War’ on our hands!

Opposite the Chemists, in ‘ Call Mar’ a new, old fashioned, ‘ Barbers’ Pole ‘ has been put up outside a small shop/premises, watch this space.

Next to it there are new shutters, of what is rumoured to be, by the ‘locals’ a new ‘ Bar ‘ – next door to ‘ Cafe Plaza’?! We could have a ‘ Bars War’ on our hands also!

On the ‘ Council’ Web-Page this morning they have announced the details of the ‘ Xmas Gourmet Fair & Festivities’ – taking place in the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ over three days/nights of the weekend of the 6/8 December.

Yesterday I booked a table for ‘Sunday Lunch’  on the 1st December to celebrate our 48th Wedding Anniversary’ at the “ La Finca Thai Fusion’ – along the coast past Sotogrande, outside San Roque, we have been meaning to go to it for a while, as all the reports are very good, both for the ‘ Thai’ food as well as the ‘ Fusion Sunday Roast’ – our anniversary is on the 29th November but we are busy in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’

NB; On Monday the 2nd of December I have my six-month review/check, appointment, across at ‘Costa Del Sol Hospital’ past Marbella, with the ‘ Prostate Consultant ‘ – ‘ Fingers Crossed’ – after all the various illnesses this year that I get a ‘clean bill of health’ -  watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having seasoned ‘Grilled Chicken Wings’ with Baked Potatoes, garnished with seared Button Mushrooms. On Friday it’s going to be a ‘ Fish n’ Chip Supper’ – then on Saturday ‘ Grilled Entrecote Steaks’ with all the trimmings, for our ‘ Sunday Roast’ we have a ‘Spanish Loin of Pork’ with Apple sauce and ‘ Goose Fat’ Roast Potatoes, with a large selection of fresh vegetables.

Yesterday evening after supper we caught the last episode of ‘ Guilt’ – catch it to find out what happened to the two brothers! This evening we will be channel hopping to find something to watch

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
