A DRY & ' FRESH' & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 24th/ NOVEMBER 2019.

We had just a little lie in this morning and after a quick freshen up we had out fresh fruit ( Banana) toast & tea before getting today’s ‘ Roast ‘ on the go.

“ Roast Loin of Spanish Pork “ -  I rolled the Pork in Sea Salt & Lemon Juice, then placed it on a bed of Mixed Vegetables Trivets, to roast in a hot oven, basting it all the time, then with the help of the ‘ Second Chef’ we prepared the vegetables & potatoes, the classic ‘ Pommes Fondant’ -  hand-cut into a barrel shapes, then quickly browning off the ends, for colour, in hot Oil, they are then placed ‘ ends-up’ in the dish and topped up with a rich ‘Chicken & Meat Vegetable Stock’ – to go in the oven this evening, at the same time we are having, as a garnish, ‘ Goose-Fat Roast Potatoes’ –  using par-boiled small round potatoes. I then made my famous ‘ Finger-Licking’ Pan Gravy, from the left-over juices in the roasting tray.

Ready to serve;

Meanwhile the ‘ Second Chef’ prepared ‘Glazed Carrot Batons with Ginger, Whole ‘ French’ Green Beans, Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, a Braised Onion in Gravy and Garden Peas. Served with ‘Bramley’ Apple Sauce & Caramelized ‘ Fuji’ Apple Slices. ( See above )

As our dear friend ‘ Brian’ is hopefully joining us for supper, as he’s going to finish the ‘Online E-Mail’  to order the new ‘Router/Fiber Optic’ system, we are having to start a small selection of ‘Tapas’ and for our dessert ‘ Chocolate Eclairs ‘

This morning the sun broke through earlier and the sky is clearing and going back to blue, as the there is a light breeze, so by lunchtime it’s only going to reach 15 degs+ - next week, as the next ‘ Atlantic’ front settles in, it’s going to be dry & sunny, with a few patchy clouds, slowly going warmer each day, as the breeze drops, back up to 20 degs+ by Tuesday and then hovering in the high ‘teens’- 18/19 degs, overnight dropping to 11/12 degs, about right for the time of the year, watch this space.

Just a quick update on the football results from yesterday; Everton lost at home, again, 0-2 to Norwich City, the bottom team in the ‘Premiere League’ – Liverpool won 1- 2 & Manchester City also won 2-1- over here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona beat the bottom team Leganes 1-2 & Real Madrid won 3-1.

Over lunchtime we managed to get in touch with Tim & Thea, on the ‘ Skype’ video, they have  now settled into a three-bedroomed Town House, back in ‘ Mojacar Playa’ – for the next four months, as they check out the local property market, Tim was not well on their journey over, so Thea ended up driving the last leg! They were just going out for a Coffee & Brandy, along the front in ‘Mojacar Playa’ in the warm sunshine!

See below, Tim at ' Home ' !

This evening we have arranged a ‘ Skype’ video link-up with Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, for a news catch-up with them.

Yesterday evening we caught, over on ‘ BBC Four’ the first episode of “ The Sinner “ – an American anthology crime drama mystery – with Bill Pullman as a Home Town Detective helping a young local Lady Detective ( Natalie Paul) solve a horrific double homicide, with the main/only suspect  involved is a young boy from a ‘Commune’ near the Town, which we see all the gruesome details off, in the opening sequences!

While I have been typing/posting today’s Blog, as usual, I was listening to the ‘ Pete Black Retro Roadshow’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW” as the ‘ Film Quiz’ came on, I got it straight away, it was  ‘ The Elephant Man’ with John Hurt’! – So we were both in the monthly draw, but sadly didn’t win the Mug, this month!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
