A ' FRESH' AND STILL SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 19th/ NOVEMBER 2019.

I was up early, again, this morning to see little ‘ Miss Bella’ back with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ for the day, as usual, she shot upstairs and jumped onto our bed, were she sleeps across the foot of the bed, as we all had a further long lie in, she’s back next Monday/Tuesday with us, see below the pictures of her sitting on her favourite spot, on the top of the back of the settee, watching us have our supper and then waiting for her Mum, Leah, to collect her!

After freshening up we had our regular toast & tea, Brenda then popped out along to the Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ for some of our prescription tablets, on the way back she called into the local shop at the bottom of our street for her fresh vegetables etc.

Late last night before we went to bed we called Lyn, over in Melbourne, Australia, on the ‘ Skype’ audio-call, as on Sunday when Brenda spoke to Jenny, she told us that Jack had a fall, as he was getting out of bed, the previous day, Norah had happened to call Lyn and got the news first hand, Lyn could not manage to lift him and called a neighbour for help, just as his ‘Palliative’ nurse called in, they took him into Hospital, where he still is, he’s a lot better after having his lungs & legs cleared of fluid, they are having a ‘ Palliative Care’ meeting to assess his needs, to see if he can come home shortly, they have changed the bed at their house to a special ‘Hospital’ style one, Lyn was rather tired and taking things as easy as she could; “ Get Well Soon – Gentleman Jack “  Love Malcolm & Brenda xxx

We have another fresh & dry day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ today, the sun broke through earlier and the sky has cleared and is blue, with just a few patchy clouds hanging around, there is a light breeze coming up off the Mediterranean, so by lunchtime it’s going to reach 16/17 degs, overnight down to just 9 degs, cold for us, tomorrow and over the next few days we are in for some of ‘ Wet-Stuff’ as the next, cold, wet & windy  ‘ Atlantic’ front come in, with light to moderate showers, with a stiffer breeze, hovering on the 15/16 degs mark, by Sunday going dry and sunny, next week is now looking more settled, with just the chance of rain, staying mostly dry & sunny, up to 19 degs by this time next week, watch this space.

See below the Sabinillas paseo this morning.

See below some pictures taken at the top of ‘Mount Snowdon’ ( 3560 feet)  yesterday, it reminded us of when back in January 1972, when we were the new Managers of the famous mountaineers hotel ‘Pen Y Gwryd’ –  where Hillary & Tenzing trained for the conquest of ‘Mount Everest’ - situated at the foot of the Llanberis Pass.

We were taken out to climb ‘ Mount Snowdon’ on a crisp & sunny day, after it has just snowed, by the world famous pioneering English rock climber ‘ Joe Brown’ – we reached the top, on a easier route, through the clouds, as we reached the ‘ Stone’ – with much deeper snow than in the pictures, it was the only spot above the  white cloud base, with no views!

We then ‘roped-up’ and Joe said to Brenda ‘ You Go First’ – over the edge, I went next and he then followed after we had reached the first ledge, we carried on down the ‘classic’ route, using the ropes, our ice axe’s & crampons,  off the mountain, to get back to the Hotel, for a warm drink and then a ‘ stiff’ one!! A ‘ Helluva’  “ Memorable Day”

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Pan-Seared Lambs Liver’ – thinly sliced and dusted in seasoned floor- ‘flash’ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Pink – no Blood’ – served with grilled ‘ English Pork Sausages, Crispy Spanish Smoked Bacon’ and garnished with seared Button Mushrooms, with a sauceboat of a rich ‘ Red Wine, Onion & Shallot Salsa’ on the side. Brenda is making her famous ‘Mashed Potato’  accompanied with Cabbage with Acelgas & Garden Peas, mixed with Baby Carrots.    “Comfort Food for a Cold Evening “

Yesterday evening after supper we watched the first episode of a new series ‘ Vienna Blood’ over on ‘ BBCTV 2’ – set in a snowy, ‘fin-de-siecle’ Vienna back in 1906, as a serial killer embarks on a bizarre campaign of murder, vicious mutlilation , a penchant for symbols  & seemingly random victims, as a old fashioned, grizzled, older Detective ( Juergen Maurer) and a novice, young, baby-faced, ‘ Jewish’ pshychoanalyst ( Matthew Beard’) – attempt to find the killer, with sub-plots about the lives of them both, as the heroes battled the to find the truth, even taking part in a mysterious séances, all ending up on the World famous “ Wiener Riesenrad “ Ferris wheel!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
