A VERY COLD & DAMP SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 20th/ NOVEMBER 2019.

We had a little in this morning before getting another day on the go, I was listening to the ‘ Andrew Charles Breakfast Show’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW” as the ‘ Music Quiz’ came on, it was a 14 second opening track, not in reverse, which I guessed before he gave the ‘ cryptic clues’ – so I entered ‘Lady’ Brenda’s name, it was ‘ The Weather Girls ‘ with “ It’s Raining Men “ – so she is in the draw on Friday morning, again!

We then freshened up before having our breakfast, this morning it was a ‘Toasted Sausage Butty’ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, using last night’s left-over ‘Grilled Pork Sausages’ – reheated in the microwave, then sliced open, one left cold and sliced into pieces for Brenda, with mugs of hot/strong tea to set us up for the day ahead.

Speaking of which, it’s going to be cold & wet, as the latest ‘ Atlantic’ front hits us! It’s grey & overcast with dark rain clouds, the breeze is stiffening and at the moment we have a light rain shower, by this afternoon it’s forecast to only reach 13 degs+ down to just 6 degs during the night! Then over the next  three days, up to Sunday we are in for a lot of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ – going windier each day, hovering in the mid ‘teens’ -  by Friday on ‘ Yellow Alert’ for very high winds and heavy RAIN!!

Next week is now looking a lot more settled as the next ‘Atlantic’ front comes in, bringing with it the warmer sunshine, with a few patchy clouds, staying dry and sunny, back up to 19/20 degs by the middle of next week, watch this space.

Meanwhile across in Liverpool on the River Mersey you can see below some pictures of the ferry boat ‘Snowdrop’ – taken yesterday and earlier in the year, it was given it’s unique new livery, inspired by the ‘First World War’ dazzle camouflage ships, the painting was designed by Sir Peter Blake, who is famous for the cover of The Beatles album “ Sgt, Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band “ from 1967.

See below;

This evening for our supper we are having ‘Grilled Gammon Steaks’ garnished with seared Pineapple Rings & Button Mushrooms, topped with ‘Campo’ Fried Eggs! Served with Garden Peas and triple-cooked ‘ Chips’

Yesterday evening after supper we settled down to watch the second episode of ‘Gold Digger ‘ as the story unfolds, each week focusing on one of the characters, this week ‘ Her Daughter ‘ who is a Lesbian Comedian with personal problems! Julia ( Julia Ormond ) the newly divorced 60 year-old takes Benjamin ( Ben Barnes ) to her massive great  Devon  house, where they bump into her ex-husband! The two sons meanwhile are starting to plot how to uncover the ‘Gold Diggers’ past!

Later we caught the next episode of ‘Rick Stein’s Secret France ‘ – this week he was in Burgundy & the Auvergne, so he had a ‘ Sorrel Soup ‘ – straight out of the garden, then a ‘Med-Rare’ Charolais Entrecote Steak with ‘ Frits’  in a local farmers market Bar/Restaurant, he then made the classic ‘ Parmentier de Confit de Canard ‘ – to you & me – ‘ Duck Cottage Pie’!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
