A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 25th/ JULY 2019.  “ FERIA SANTA ANA “

We had a little lie in this morning after the hottest night so far, after freshening up, as I was on the breakfast rota I had a ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea, to get the day off in the right direction.

We then shot down to Sabinillas, as Brenda had an appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, for a review/check up, she has adjusted her prescription tablets etc.

This afternoon ‘ Scruffy’ will be dropped off for a few hours, with us in ‘Doggy World Heaven’

We then came back up to the village, the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ has all the children’s rides on it, including a new ‘Ghost Train’ ride in front of the ‘Wine Museum’ - that takes up half the main road! This year they have also put the new ‘ Adult’ rides on the waste ground at the bottom of the village, that is usually an extra car park?! There are also more rides down by the sports complex, all tonight only 1 Euros!

The “ Feria Santa Ana “ starts this evening with the crowning of the local ‘Feria Queens’ on the main stage in ‘Calle Mar’-  which has been lit & decorated, with lights & flags, this year the Council have also put lights down our street! Then it’s followed by a concert by the ‘Manilva Brass Band’ with a selection of Spanish and Pop classics.

The sun was out early this morning and the sky was cloudless and blue, with just a very light breeze, by lunchtime it will reach 30 degs+ tomorrow up to 32 degs+ then over the rest of the ‘ Feria’ weekend staying in the low 30s, overnight down to 21 degs+ - Next week is looking very warm & sunny, hovering in the high 20s before next weekend when it will be back up to 32/33 degs+! Watch this space.

In yesterday’s post we received a ‘Post Card’ from Sandra & Bill, when they were away on their travels last week, it came from ‘Long Island ‘ as they visited ‘The Hamptons’ – the wine, by the glass, was only $18 !

Today’s “ Tour de France “ reaches the ‘ Alps ‘ as ‘Stage 18’ goes over four mountains, from Embrun, including two ‘ High Catergory’ climbs, the final one over the classic ‘Col De Galibier’ – with a long decent to the finish at Valloire!

This evening we will be out enjoying the start of ‘Feria Santa Ana 2019’ – sat outside ‘ Bar Castillo’ next to the main stage.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
