A VERY HOT & ' CLAMMY' SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 16th/ JULY 2019.

We had a little lie in this morning after a very hot & clammy night, after freshening up we had our usual fresh fruit, toast & tea, to set us up for the day ahead. I then popped along to the Chemists in Calle Mar to check how to change the needle on the ‘Blood/Glucose’ monitoring machine, simple when you know how!

In ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ yesterday afternoon ‘ Scruffy’ should have been with us, but sadly Adrian, was not very well and couldn’t make his appointment for his next radiotherapy treatment over in Malaga, so  Scruffy’ didn’t arrive, fingers-crossed that  he’s with us this afternoon and the rest of the week, ‘Chispa’ has been in & out as usual, all the time. Watch this space.

It’s very hot and sunny out, the light breeze is even blowing warm, your breathe is taken away when you step outside, the sky is cloudless, so by lunchtime it will be 30 degs+ overnight only down to 20/21 degs+ - the rest of the week is staying the same, before it goes warmer on Sunday, next week is going to be a ‘ scorcher’ – going up to 32 degs+ at times, watch this space.

Today it’s one of the big festivals of the year, the “ Virgen del Carmen Festival “ – the Fisherman’s festival, when they parade the ‘Tronos-Tableau’ from the old ports of ‘ Castillo de la Duquesa ‘ to the new port of ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ – before it goes on a fishing boat, out to sea, to be blessed.

See below; ( last years!)

And today !

On Saturday, down on the seafront in Sabinillas, it’s the “ Luna Llena – Full Moon Festival “ – the summer party, with music & fun, when all those attending are encouraged to come dressed all in White!

Over in Liverpool, last night, the largest cruise liner in the World, berthed at the Pier Head, the “ Queen Mary 2 “ – later today she heads off to New York – see below.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘Escalope’s of Chicken Breast’  - pan-seared on the hot griddle-plate, finished with a Balsamic Vinegar dressing, with finely sliced ‘French’ Green Beans & Parsley New Potatoes, tomorrow night it’s still TBC, on Thursday the ‘staff’ have been given the night-off!

Over in the “ Tour de France “ it’s a rest day, Britain’s defending champion Geraint Thomas moved up to second in a dramatic conclusion on ‘Stage 10’ – as the ‘peloton’ split – catching many of his race rivals by surprise!

After supper last night we settled down to watch the pen-ultimate episode of “ Dark Money “ – the final episode is this evening, as the story started to unfold, as the dysfunctional family split apart.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
