A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 11th/ JULY 2019.

We were both up early, again, this morning and after a quick freshen up we shot down to Sabinillas to the main ‘ Medical Centre’ for my appointment with the ‘ Practise Nurse ‘ – our Doctor, Natalia, called me in and went through the ‘Blood Glucose’ Monitoring System with me again, she want’s to see me again tomorrow morning, first thing, to check that everything it going right, no doubt talking about a ‘ Diet Regime’ at the same time!

The two main ‘Practise Nurses ‘ then took over and went through the procedure for the daily ‘Insulin Injection’-  giving us a record book to keep all the readings, together with more details about carrying ‘ Sugar Sweets’ in case of the ‘ Wobbles’ etc, this morning Brenda is picking up the ‘ Emergency Kit’ form the local Chemists, we are now all geared up and ready to go! Watch this space.

When we returned as I was on the breakfast rota I treated myself to my now famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, just brown toast for Brenda, with mugs of strong/hot ‘ PG’ Tips Tea.

The sun was blinding this morning, above a sparkling and calm Mediterranean, as we went down through the green vine fields, there is a light breeze, keeping it cooler in the shade, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 29 degs+ -  tomorrow up to 30 degs+ - over the weekend staying the same, next week is still going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ – hovering in the low 30s, by mid-week, with a light breeze and clear/cloudless blue skies, watch this space.

The Tennis from Wimbledon is reaching the Semi-Final stages today, over in the ‘Tour de France’ today’s ‘ Stage 6’ goes from Mulhouse to the infamous ‘ La Planche Des Belles Filles ‘ in the Vosges mountains, one of the steepest finishes in the Tour, over 161 kms, with 3 1st 2nd & 3rd  category climbs!

See the route below;

Over in North Wales at the ‘ Raynes Quarry & Jetty’ – below Penmaenhead, the old site of the “ Hotel 70*” at Llanddulas, they have been loading Limestone/ Aggregates for many years, the costal vessels load up at high tide and then go all over the country and Europe, back in 2011, one of the freighters ‘ MV Swanland’ sank in a storm with the loss of five lives, in 2012 the ‘MV Carrier’ hit the rocks/sea defences in heavy/storm weather and was a total loss, it had to be cut up on the spot!

See below the ‘ MV Sydborg ‘ loading and the 'MV Wagenborg '  setting off!

This evening the ‘ Staff’ have been given the night off, so they are hitting the Town, well they are going along to ‘ Bar Castillo’ for a nice cool drink and a light ‘Tapas’ supper, before going down to the ‘Tango & Bossa Nova Concert’ in the ‘ Casa des Torres Cultural Centre’!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
