We had a nice lie in this morning as the
village is very quiet, especially as there is no traffic along ‘Calle Mar and
down our street, after freshening up Brenda was on breakfast duty, so we had her
famous ‘ Campo Poached Eggs on Toast’ - boiled with Toast fingers for her, with
mugs of strong tea, to set us up for the day ahead.

Yesterday evening Daniela picked up little
princess ‘ Reina’ from ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ – her last visit with us for a
while, sadly, as we love ‘Reina’ and over the past few years she has been with
us every week and other times, it was five days a week to start, then 3/4 –down
to 1 or 2 lately, after the folks moved into their new grand villa, with
Daniela’s parents. ‘The end of an era’ She will be back with us for ‘ High-Days
& Holidays’ in the future, watch this space.

This morning has started a little grey
& overcast, the sun is trying to break through the patchy clouds, by
lunchtime, hopefully it will reach 18/19 degs+ - tomorrow it’s more of the
same, going a little warmer, 21 degs+ ! Next week is still looking mixed, with
some of the ‘wet-stuff’ at times, and as the breeze gets up going a little
cooler, partly cloudy at times also, the overnight temperatures are hovering on
the 13/14 degs mark, not bad for the time of the year, next weekend it’s going
to rather wet with light to moderate rain, watch this space.
See the sunrise this morning over the beach
down in Sabinillas.
This weekend on the sports front we have an
‘ Helluva’ extravaganza, today and on Sunday! In the ‘Premier League’ tomorrow Liverpool
welcome Fulham, Everton go down to Chelsea and the ‘ Match of the Day’ is the
derby game as Manchester City welcome Manchester Utd, over here in ‘La Liga’
also on Sunday, Barcelona welcome Real Betis and Real Madrid travel to play
Celta Vigo.
It’s the ‘ Brazilian Grand Prix’ tomorrow
with qualifying today, Lewis Hamilton is already the ‘ World Champion’!
The ‘ National Hunt Racing’ later, is
coming from Wincanton, Doncaster & Aintree!
Meanwhile at the ‘ Home Rugby Union
Internationals ‘ today, Ireland welcome Argentina, Wales play Australia and at
the home of Rugby, Twickenham, England welcome the ‘ All Blacks ‘ – New Zealand!
For our supper this evening we are having ‘Tournados
Rossini’ – the Fillet steaks are wrapped in Smoked Bacon, then seared on the very
hot griddle plate, finished in a very hot oven – ‘Med-Rare’ – garnished with
seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms. I place them on a toasted ‘
Crute’ surrounded with a pool of ‘Red
Wine Jus’ and top them with a ‘Quenelle’ of local Iberian Pate! Accompanied with whole ‘ French’ Green Beans
& twice-cooked ‘Frits’
Tomorrow I’m making my famous version of
the old classic “ Lancashire Hotpot “ – served with Pickled Beetroot and
Cabbage with Alcelgas. ‘Comfort Food’ to die for!!
After supper this evening we will channel
hop to find something to watch.
